Instead of using the practice tool, you can go to a Speedrunning world, start Beneath Cursed Sands, use the minigame teleport, and talk to the NPC to the far-east of the caves, you can practice Jad in-game with no time/gp investment.

Dude. I havent ever beaten jad before. I took yoir advice just so i could get a feel for prayer swaps so i didnt waste 2 hours just to die to improper swaps. Did it like 6 times died at healers 4 of those times I got it my second try on my main. Ty so much. First fire cape in almost 20 years of playing.

​@@1freakgamer ds2 speedrunning setup has armadyl in the bank and fire cape/bandos/faceguard equipped by default, so it has solid range/melee equipment. Can't remember about mage equipment but I feel like maybe it had ahrims and god cape? Idk if it has the quests completed to reach zulrah though.

Largely thanks to your guide and safe-spots i was able to whoop Jad's butt after 3rd try. It could've been first as i did everything quite well, but ultimately nerves defeated me, and that was after dealing with healers. Anyway, i'd like to leave some minor tips that helped me, which might be useful to someone who reads this. First off, im not certain if it was mentioned in video above, if it was just ignore this one. You can determine where Jad will spawn as early as wave 3. How? You need to keep an eye out where the first Blob will spawn. You can simply leave and re-enter the cave if u think his spawn point is not favourable for you. When Blob shows up on the south of the so-called "Italy rock" it's most likely the best spot, as u can safely hide from Jad on north side in order to catch a breath, or lure the healers there, finish them off one by one, and return for 1v1 with Jad. Unless they fully healed him up before you lured them, they will not respawn, and u can simply focus on your prayers and duel with Jad himself. Second, i suggest you should really try to prepare and calm urself on wave 62 just before wave 63 with Jad, as stress might hit you like a truck even if you were calm and cool so far. Once again you can safely hide on the north of Italy Rock, leaving one or both of Mage doggies stuck out of range on south. Personally, i sorted songs on my spotify playlist in order to pick few songs suitable for the boss fight itself (playing on fairly low volume be able to hear game sounds), also i took out a gum to chew on to help dealing with stress (as this cost me my first try), after few minutes of break, equipped my crossbow, diamond bolts and blessed spirit shield, drank saradomin brew to heal above my max health, then restore potion, and finally bastion potion. Third, You can setup ur F keys (F1-F5 etc.) to switch tabs on keyboard instead of clicking. You can find that in settings -> controls. For example; i have inventory on F1 and prayers on F2. Lastly, although i haven't actually used it myself, you can either bring dragon crossbow(its special attack hits multiple targets) or chinchompas if u need an AoE attack to tag healers standing close to Jad. Once again, haven't tested it myself but apparently it can work. I bring this up because i have lost my 2nd attempt due to being unable to pull healers away from him properly, so they respawned 2 times after i killed them, and that complicated the whole thing for me. Of course you don't have to kill them - you can tank them, but i'd rather worry about one thing at a time. This post turned out a little longer than expected, but i do hope someone finds at least some of this additional tips useful. Stay calm and goodluck; you've got this.

This is great advice, I had 2 previous attempts similar to yours chins helped alot meant i could focus more on prayers. Being nervous was my only issue beacuse it's such long time sink. Also think what worked best for me was doing only 1 action per attack so i would switch prayer first and only 1 sip/ attack

I find this incredible. But I did complete a fire cape as a kid. I tried so many times lol. I completed it again as an adult. And recently completed monkey madness 2. I swear if you done MM2 you can beat Jad I promise. I know you say it’s nerves and that really is what it is. You invest an hour or two getting to that fight. And you will probably fail the first time. But just saddle up and do it again and you’ll crush it I promise. It’s a bit of money sure, but you’ll be just fine. The blowpipe having a built in heal goes such a long way.

Btw if anyone needs it, if you search OSRS Jad Simulator, there’s an actual mod someone created where you are just fighting jad over and over. All you can do is switch your prayers to get use to his attacks. Can’t do damage to him and there’s no healers phase on it but it’s incredibly helpful getting to practice hearing and seeing his attacks before you go into the fight. I highly recommend!

For those who are a lower level than the Beneath Cursed Sands speedrun profile, the beta worlds are currently open. You can overwrite your beta save with your main profile. I was able to do the speedrun world one with ease (infernal challenge 1) however when I did it on my 67 range main on beta world I got whooped. I used the debug tool to set my ranged to 70 and it was still quite difficult with cbow and karils as the speedrun profile had 85 stats and my main only has 70s. I'm gonna train to 70 or 75 ranged knowing this, then log out before Jad and try a few more runs on beta/speedrun. Thanks for the guide! Really hoping the extra difficulty of inferno jad pays off (more healers and dmg). Idk how people do triple jad

Finally beat Jad after all this time! Your video helped me get very confident getting to Jad without making any mistakes. I was able to safespot Jad on Italy rock and managed to kite all of the healers after taking a huge 81 from missing a prayer! Just watched this and it was helpful. The point about not panicking is 90% of the battle. Here are some things to note. Melees can be safespotted so never worry about these. Attack front to back, so melees then rangers then mage (as youll almost always be praying mage) Waves are small (3-4 enemies) so just think how do i do front to back. Rangers dont do a tonne of damage and with a decent range level youll them in under 20 seconds. Jad himself isnt hard when you realise back leg roar is mage / stomp is range. All you need to do is agro the healers and you can ignore them (all 4 were in a row and i didnt even put them in that position) I went in to "practice" with about 6 prayer and 15 shark and with no real thoyght that id beat it, more just to get the feel of it. If youre low level it wont be as easy but nor should it be.

7:40 Using the Wiki DPS calculator, msb(i) + amethyst arrows beats dcb + diamond bolts(e) on mages. Amethyst arrows are more expensive than bolts, but if you can afford them they're a great upgrade. Great guide though, I got my fire cape!

also. i'm trying to use the inferno helper to practice praying jad's attacks although it's a little hard understanding how it works. I've gathered that the blue dot is a magic attack and the green dot is a ranged attack. But what's the window for the prayer being successful? Is there some animation in the webapp that denotes what the next attack will be? To me it seems like once you see the dot it's already too late but I may just be too slow edit: nvm i figured it out. for those wondering when he spins thats a magic attack and when he rocks back and forth that's a ranged attack

Ty a lot my friend, just got it after 3 attempts. Here some reasons i died: I came to close to the meele range of the mage npc (he hits a lot), and i dont know if its bugged, but always pray mage even before you see the mage, he has an incredible long range. The second time i died was because i killed the healer and didnt know they respawn, if you kill them to slow (i think they dont respawn if you kill them before they heal jad all the time) The best tips for jad was for me: Always pray range because its one tick faster and you cant hear it, its easier to pray against mage. Do one action per pray like in the video and most important, USE A SHIELD, IT HELPS SO MUCH EVEN RUNE SHIELD !!!

Great guide! I did this at combat level 117, if you are around this combat level here are some additional tips to make it easier: All of the waves were pretty easy and I really didn’t struggle at all with them, my only real advice is when the mage starts spawning, there really is no need to switch off of praying mage since the other monsters are a minimal threat as long as you take them out first before the mage. It really isn’t that difficult unless you are an extremely low level. As for Jad, it took my 3 times to beat (thanks to this guide), and I cannot stress the importance of paying the most attention to prayer switching. It should be absolute number 1 in your mind, because any of his attacks can just one shot you at full hp. Elysian is 100% correct when he says only do one action for each jad attack. You do NOT have to do anything fast in this fight. Take it very very slow and just pay attention to the had attacks. Unfortunately, it will still probably take you a small handful of attempts for this to really cement in your mind.

Thanks for saying it took you 12 attempts. TBH I got really discouraged after ~4 attempts and I haven't tried it since - it's kind of a slog. I find it really easy to get to jad, but then I slip up and get 1 shot *every time* when the healers come out. Appreciate the guide. I felt like it shouldn't have taken me 4 attempts/ have been feeling like I'm just bad, even though that's silly - hearing that it took you 12 attempts helps.

Man I got flamed and joked on when I died on my 4th try back in the day. I left my guild and joined another and got the fire cape on my 5th try 1.5 years ago. Just got a slayer task to do Jad and watching your video and knowing people struggled is the best feeling. The best tip I have is: Once at Jad, keep your nerves in check! Thats the biggest wipe factor

The best thing I ever did was to just put a little sticky note on my desktop that just has a short list of what to pray which wave and that was all. Not every wave, just when to change or when prayer isn’t needed at all.

Kinda a crazy idea but I have maged the whole thing and also did a run taking purple candies since they stack and can be basically infinite tick food. Never had to tick eat but it was an option. I did use the candies though to regain some hp. Taking purples might be an idea inside a single food slot if wanted. Expensive save but still can be a handy save.

you said get a slayer task. does that have to be a jad slayer task or any slayer task?

finally got a jad task and coming back to this guide. Is karil's really preferable to god d'hide? for the fight caves? you get like +4 or something ranged defense, the magic defense is more than likely useless. you also lose a fairly significant amt of melee defense (10-15 in each style) which matters against the healers which is probably the biggest choke point in the run. plus u lose out on 2 prayer bonus which isn't a ton but over 90 minutes 6.666% extra prayer points seems significant

I would probably take a veracs helm/skirt instead if you're looking for more prayer and durability

How did you get your screen to flash red when jad switched attacks?

Hey, so it wasn't actually flashing on Jad's attack, it was flashing because my health/prayer was low and just letting me know I should fix that

I remember it took me 6 attempts on jad 4 of those attempts was server dc The 5th attempt failed prayer flick 6th finally got it Might go back and try again I wanna see how the fully charged venator now does

how do u switch between tabs so quickly? I usually mess up because im manually clicking the tabs to eat and switch prayer

You can setup ur F keys (F1-F5 etc) to switch tabs on keyboard instead of clicking. You can find that in settings -> controls. For example; i have inventory on F1 and prayers on F2. I haven't attempted fight caves yet, but i believe this should help quite a bit.
