Thank you for this series! I will be taking a World Cruise on Arcadia sailing 3 Jan 2025. I need to book transportation to LHR upon our return. What time is recommended to book transportation (pick up at the cruise terminal)? Again, thank you.

Ah, what a cruise that will be! Thanks so much for watching - these are actually my older videos, so it’s lovely to hear you enjoyed them! The ship usually docks in Southampton by about 7am, so I’d say anytime from 8am you’d be fine if using a taxi. I usually opt for a slightly later start, and would book from 9am though - better safe if you have time! Thanks again!

Good info, Fraser. As already mentioned, never seen a peaceful disembarkation! There are times on smaller ships when carrying off your own luggage is better. But I do accept than when it's wild, minimising what you carry is appropriate. Hope your New Year Virtuosa cruise was good. Looking forward to the vlogs.

Fraser, my train ticket from Southampton to London was valid from 0930 on a weekday. So I was waiting to debark Arcadia at her library, browsing Berlitz’s cruise guide by Douglas Ward, not to get to the station too early. June

Wow I wish, my disembark off brittiana was a nightmare, being disabled and trying it get a lift, no other option, was a nightmare over 3quarters of an hour before I could get on a lift

Ah, that’s when you really do rely on other passengers to get out if they can walk - sorry to hear this!

I am sorry to say those that could have used the stairs were the ones who rushed to a lift door, not taking it in turns and even climbed over me and other mobility device users to get in the lift, causing me pain when the knocked me. They need to sort out some supervision for the lifts to stop the inconsiderate and ignorant. It has got worse I feel since covid
