I have some original photographs of this. My great-grandfather, Clement Miller, was a lumberman from Lumber City Pa. and rode the raft from Lumber City to Clearfield where they made him get off because of his age. The only picture I had ever seen of him was riding the raft which I was able to enlarge using Photoshop.

Tickled Funny Bone Yes the dedication is still displayed by the middle set of (3) tracks that go thru town in a stone monument. 15-20? feet from the curb of US 219 across from the train station.

In March,,the water is darn cold,,probably hypothermia was a big factor in the drownings

@billtown biker yeah great input genius. If water is cold enough and you are suddenly submerged the shock has a paralytic effect as your muscles contract.
