Great reaction! He was misdiagnosed for many years with various conditions and told that it was all in his head when actually Lyme disease was wreaking havoc with his body. He had stem cell treatment a few years ago which helped a lot but he's still suffering the after effects and is currently in Canada for more treatment that he hopes will help. He's a master of so many different styles of music - singing, rap, beatboxing. I hope you look into more of his tracks and videos as they're all worthwhile. 'Sick Boi' was the next one that he brought out after 'Hi Ren' and tells you a bit more about his story. He has some beautiful collaborations with Chinchilla - 'Chalk Outlines' and 'How to be Me' both live versions are amazing. He also has some tracks that are just great fun like 'What You Want', 'Losing It' and 'Love Music Part 3'. You can't go wrong.

Ren's recent post: "Hi Ren" has been selected for 4 categories up for nomination in the Prague music video awards: Best music video Best low budget music video (under 3k) Best cinematography Best European music video He's so incredibly talented, you just can't go wrong with any of his work. Looking forward to more reactions from you guys! (And hey, possession was a very valid guess!) 😄

The following was collated by Jens Randolff so props to him for that. Here is a little bit about his background, in case you don't know already. I gathered it from an old newspaper interview and Ren's livestreams and posts where he discussed his condition. Ren Eryn Gill is a British musician born in Wales on March 29 1990. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, he began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures. In 2010, he was signed by Sony Records and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point where he was unable to continue and subsequently dropped by Sony. Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which lead him to experience psychosis. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is currently in Canada for more treatments, including surgeries, and will have to be there for at least six months (Summer of 2023). Ren's Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder, which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, adrenals, as well as his bones/joints. Ren stated: "It's a lot to wrap my head around having to be away from friends, family, and a successful career, and almost feels like a total juxtaposition to the fact that my music is blowing up right now and spreading to all corners of the world, but that's life, we take the good with the bad." Let's keep supporting Ren and not pull a "Sony" on him as he undergoes his treatment. Check out his channel, listen to some of his earlier work, like and comment on his performances, and let's lift Ren's spirits. If you are a believer, pray for him. Ren is an artist with something to say to this generation, and his work is needed in these troubling times. Here is the link to Ren’s GoFundMe page to raise money for his current treatment. www.gofundme.com/f/ren-get-better-from-lyme-disease-and-autoimmuni

Loved y'alls reaction. Ren is blowing up recently mainly with this song. He has so many talents. He just oozes music and realness in my opinion. His Trillogy Song The Tale of Jenny and Screech is really good. Make sure if you do react to it you do the full 13min version and pay attention to the clues for the ending to make sense. He has been a street performer for 1/2 his life and just turned 33 yrs old.

So glad you guys did this one! I'm obsessed! You 100% HAVE to do the tale of Jenny and screech (full)... It's 13 minutes and worth every single second. This guy deserves so much recognition and I'm happy he's blowing up lately. And great reaction! This is one of those songs, like many of his, that are fun to watch on reaction videos to see if people catch the subtle hints/references and emotionally react the same as the watcher. Look forward to seeing more!

New sub here guys! Dug your reactions/ insights AND your friendly banter. You’ll be glad to know you’ll get to see 🐷 a few more times. If you want current Ren dopeness Sick Boi, then Illest of our Time will bring you up to speed quite nicely. But if you want to dive deep into his creative storytelling on a Shakespeare tragedy 🎭 level, go with the *COMPLETE* trilogy in one shot, The Tales of Jenny, Screech, and Violet. 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼 And when it’s time to lighten up and be floored by his live guitar playing and singing with his mates - the way to go is The Big Push on a sunny street doing I Shot the Sheriff/ Road to Zion/ Hip Hop.

Absolutely loved your reaction guys, definitely one of the best of the many I have heard until now, which is 50+. You will LOVE "The Tale of Jenny and Screech(full)", which includes Violets Tale to finish the trilogy. There is a follow-up to Hi Ren called "Sick Boi", so you might want to head there before doing the trilogy, but please dig deep into the world of Ren and his group "The Big Push"; dozens of top class songs and performances like this to be unearthed. Have fun!!

Ren has an inspiring story and his music is great. Whether he is singing about his struggles or not, his music has a message. I've also checked out some interviews. He's a very humble guy with a big heart. I've got a soft spot for artists like that, I'm a huge Tom Hiddleston fan for that reason. Ren is a great storyteller. Ive enjoyed checking out his music.

If there's butchering to be done...it's a pig mask and scant other garments for me. Anyway, glad you enjoyed Ren and he has more quality and variety to give. The Tales of Jenny and Screech full version is something else. The Illest Of OurTime grabs the most reluctant rap fans...referencing his experiences with insights like "depression is a blessing in disguise". I think to overcome his illness he weaponised his artistry.

It's never to late to join the RENaissance. ❤ If you want to see more of his amazing storytelling and guitar work, you should do a reaction to The Tale of Jenny & Screech (full), a trilogy of tragedy from the streets of London as told by a modern-day bard. To see more of his live performance skills, check out his street performance with The Big Push, particularly the one of I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop, specifically. To see more of the pig, then his two latest releases, the 2nd and 3rd from his upcoming album are Sick Boi and Illest of Our Time. They go much harder and are 🔥 If you'd like to get something less dire, then he's got a whole host of great hiphop/rap tracks to sample: > Losing It > The Hunger > Power > Genesis > What You Want > Bittersweet Symphony > Right Here, Right Now ~ Peace 🕊

Enjoyed your exchange and would recommend understanding the lights. Pay close attention next time to see when the shadow enters into the side representing the light or good side. The ending reprise with flashing lights represents the integration of the dark and light personality traits. Ren has reached the serenity to accept the dance, the courage to adjusts his forward steps that come with the understand and wisdom from the study of psychological warfare.

Personally I think one of the most geniuses parts of the performance, and there are many, where the trippy vocals at the beginning and end. It’s unexpected in such a way that it ‘cleanses’ your mental palette so to speak much like ginger between bites of sushi. I liken it to a minstrel during medieval times entering a town. He didn’t just walk in, he attracted the peoples attention as he entered, in a loud vocal/musical way in order to bring everyone in and around him, the center of attention. Once the minstrel had complete attention he began his tales, performance, show. Then ended in a similar way as he had entered. Enter stage right exit stage left. The vocal “trilling” where the opening and closing of the curtain, before and after the show.

For me the part you thought was like processed was more about evil being something that has existed since the dawn of time. It's the voice that whispers in the mind of a child as they look at those sweets that he could just take some and no-one would notice. That voice that whisper for you to do something dishonest, dishonourable, immoral or illegal. It's the voice that pushes you to take the wrong path and why he said it lives in every decision. We all have it, but for Ren I thin his was worse due to the damage to his brain the Lyme disease caused him.

Others are giving you good info....thanks. pig guy is in a lot of videos. I think it relates to the greed and mismanagement in the medical system that left him misdiagnosed and over medicated for years. He spent years in bed disabled. Lyme disease ravaged his body and mind and immune system. He is such an inspiration I'm 73 and he rocks my world like Bob Dylan and Paul Simon did in the 60s-70s. Wrlcome to the ride.

So, Psychologist here. Multiple personalities is kind of a myth, to be honest. Some call it the saint grail of psychology. I don't think there is a single proven case of multiple personality disorder officially diagnosed. The reason is that there is no way to prove it, since we don't have neurological evidence of it, we only have a few dozen that allegedly tells mental health professionals that they have multiple personalities. I'd say it's more a Hollywood thing than a real proven disorder. Anyway, the song is not about that, it's about the battles and dichotomy within one. EgoxSuperego, IndividualxMoral, GoodxEvil, PositivenessxNegativiness, HopexDespair, LightxDarkness, OrderxChaos... Ren uses a lot of religious references and symbols to show those dichotomies, not because he is religious, but because we humans create that as representations of our inner struggles and our human condition. At least, this is my take. Another thing, the very last bit is Ren's favourite one. Because according to the myths, Angels are only capable of good, Demons only capable of Evil, and Gods are something beyond those two beings, they are capable of good and evil, but with always a greater plan in mind. Now we, humans... we are just poor imperfections beings always struggling between good and evil (as the idea of the pendulum and the eternal dance he referred to) and we must remember what we are and learn how to live within our eternal human condition.
