This is going to be a controversial opinion but they were better when Miku stopped playing guitar and did crowd interaction. She should be doing that. Well I'm a 61 year old grown up, but I really had problems to hold my tears back, when I saw Kanami to chear up Miku and receiving that kiss form her. Which was a kiss substitutional for all members. Miku noticed very well, how their band members tried to help and that was her thank you to them. And guys, exact this is why I love them. I love them for their music, skills, appearance, but mostly because of beeing a band of sisters. I cannot remember, that I ever have seen a band with such a team spirit and as I said, I listen to music since a long time. I wish all rock stars would handle a rig fail like Miku does. With nothing but smiles and extra energy. No cursing at her techs, no tantrum on stage. Just pushing through with her usual positive vibe and making the best out of an unexpected situation. Cause lets be honest, sh*t happens sometimes and her way is the right way to handle it. I loved seeing MISA going extra hard, probably to help fill the lack of rhythm guitar, and Kanami getting a kiss absolutely made my day 🥰 Thanks so much for sharing this! Rock on, Po! 🕊️🤘😎🖤

What a nightmare gig! Credit to Miku for handling it the way she did, I'm sure she knows that high gain tube amps just misbehave sometimes. Even before that though, I can't believe how little time they were given to perform and how little space they were given onstage. I've never seen so little of either before. Akane had to go stage left! They came all the way to the US for that? They deserved so much better.

@@LanceDanger I saw in the clips that Miku's techs tried to bring out and set up another amp for her. In fairness to TLR, I think it's likely that it was actually Sugizo or Miyavi volunteering one of their amps for her to use. That would be super cool of them if it was.

A tip of the Maid Bonnet to Miku for persevering through the equipment failure. She is a true showman . Once again she has shown us what she's made of. If you read her lyrics you know that overcoming obstacles and defeating negativity is her theme. They put on a great show despite the rig failure. Akane and Misa probably just "Went Bigger" and it looks like Mincho worked a little harder to fill in for the missing rhythm guitar (and earned herself a kiss!). I'm not sure whether they rented or brought their own amplifiers on this short but very important trip. I've seen both EVH and Peavey head units and speaker boxes behind Miku at different shows. Maybe someone owes Band-Maid a refund on the rental unit? Don't forget that cables fail more often than you might think! I design and specify cables for severe environments and a Band-Maid stage show qualifies as a severe environment in my book. Look at how often you see their techs managing their cables: Miku does seem to get tangled up a little more than the others, but then, she's probably the most animated of the group!

@@greylocke100 I thought they would be multimillionaires with the number of CDs sold............. No gearhead has said whether Kanami uses the 6L6 or the EL-34 power tube for the Mesa Boogie 3 channel head amp. [ the amp can do this with a bias switch] Mesa Boogie uses an unusual rectifier tube 5U4 rather than the usual 5AR4 tube. The 5U4 was designed in the late 30s but by 1960s, transistors replaced them in the audio world for rectifying AC to DC. Mesa did try to get into the audiophile world with their tube amps but did not succeed; they did get nice reviews. Why tubes? You can overdrive them to distortion to levels that a transistor cannot do; transistors would just quit.....The 6L6 was developed in the 30s and the EL-34 was designed I think the 50s. I had a Dynaco ST-70 audio amp that used the EL-34 in the late 60s.......
@greylocke100 Жыл бұрын
@@satanschyldren851 I'm not that much a gear guitarist. I just have a cheap 20 watt practice amp with a 12" DGH no name speaker, but I do know that Kanami uses all 3 channels of her Mesa Boogie, since her solo channel is panned slightly into the left channel, where her wet/dry channels are all panned hard right. That is probably why at this performance she had to use 2 dual rectifiers instead of a triple rectifier. It's rented equipment. And I've seen some really bad horror stories about rented equipment. Like people renting it and swapping internals, or spilling stuff into them before returning it. I know Miku had an amp in Dallas in 2019 I think that smoked and smelled bad. So I figure that the rental company either didn't check out the equipment since it was a rushed contract or it hasn't been maintained properly. I didn't see S.I.R. on any of the travel cases, which is who the Ladies used last year.

The stage amps are not for that. The PA system (those speakers you see hanging from the ceiling) and its amps are designed to be as LINEAR as possible, meaning that if you plug in (mix in) two or more sources the output you hear is close of what you would get if you used several independent amps of lower power dedicated to each source. Conversely, the amps on stage are usually operated in a NON-LINEAR regime (to color the sound with distortion). In such case, if you plug more then one source, what you get is NOT the sum of the inputs, the amp will produce a mess that have a component of the sum but also several additional, unwanted, sounds due to intermodulation products. It is similar to sharing a single distortion pedal between two guitars. It just won't produce good results.
