I think he's making fun of us because most of us judge him by his looks; how he's changed from 'your sweet biology teacher' to 'I would prefer to show you what biology is' to '70 year old man trying to fit in with cool kids'... When people think of Alex they think of badass-quiff-leatherjacket-unforgettable AM look and now he's acting like most of fans didn't expect..he's roasting us and we aren't even aware of that and that's the funniest part of alex turner's impression

Can we just praise Miles for how tight he always is. I saw them live at Roskilde this summer and he really seemed to be "leading" the whole performance while Alex danced around and sang. Miles is a very talented musician and I think he deserves more credit than he gets for this project.
@alchan72586 жыл бұрын
Oh my gawd, thank you ! Someone is finally saying it !
@CC-ff6pb6 жыл бұрын
tbh Alex's songwriting improves their work much more than Miles' guitar and overall performance skills, so I guess the credit he gets is just right.
@CC-ff6pb6 жыл бұрын
Well I haven't read any Dutch review so I don't know how exactly they justified their view. Imo Alex's solo/AM songwriting is way better than Miles' solo work, also it's a fact that Alex wrote few TLSP songs on his own. While personally I wouldn't use the word 'minimal', the widespread conclusion is that Alex brought more effort and quality into that record and I share this opinion.

I would like to thank the camera person for this video for their service to the female gaze. (Seeing things that are ‘female gaze-y’ is always refreshing given how rare they seem to be.) That whole pan up Alex’s body at 3:47 is a mood, haha. Just, thank you, whoever is responsible for that. And also for the whole part where Alex sits down at Miles’ feet and sensually leans his head back at 5:48 or so. You get me. 🙏🏼😆 He’s like a fucking Roman statue! I just wanna keep watching him move around. Also, he’s dressed like a ‘70s porn star but I am here for it. He is making that shit work.

"we're talking about the gays now?" "no. g-a-z-e" (it was lame, I know. I just had to) But for real now, I love your comment! It is really rare that we get to see a mv that is not male-centered. Even rarer when it comes to all-male rock bands. This video is really refreshing and beautifull!

So true. I thought it was just me being a perv but it's not. It is actually shot for the female gaze.

The instruments are not played live, and i'm pretty sure that the vocals aren't either.. It's quite difficult not to have any noise from the mic while moving like that...

Lyrics : [Verse 1] You were the promise at dawn I was the morning after You were Jesus Christ, my Lord I was the money lender You were the sensitive woman I was the very reverend Freud You were the manual orgasm I was the dirty little boy [Chorus] And is this what you wanted To live in a house that is haunted By the ghost of you and me? Is this what you wanted To live in a house that is haunted By the ghost of you and me? [Verse 2] You were Marlon Brando I was Steve McQueen You were K-Y Jelly I was Vaseline You were the father of modern medicine I was Mr. Clean You were the Whore and the Beast of Babylon, I was Rin Tin Tin And is this what you wanted To live in a house that is haunted By the ghost of you and me? And is this what you wanted To live in a house that is haunted By the ghost of you and me? [Verse 3] You got old and wrinkled I stayed seventeen You lusted after so many I lay here with one You defied your solitude I came through alone You said you could never love me I undid your gown [Chorus] And is this what you wanted To live in a house that is haunted By the ghost of you and me? And is this what you wanted To live in a house that is haunted By the ghost of you and me? I mean, is this what you wanted To live in a house that is haunted By the ghost of you and me? That's right, is this what you wanted To live in a house
