The Last Testament of Garab Dorje - The Three Statements that Strike the Essential Points - Dzogchen

Excerpts from the text "The Golden Letters" translated by John Myrdhin Reynolds.
The lineage of Dzogchen, unbroken to the present day, is traced from the dharmakaya Samantabhadra (‘Kuntuzangpo’ in Tibetan) to the sambhogakaya, represented by the five buddha families and Vajrasattva, and then to the first human master Garab Dorje. It then passed to Mañjushrimitra. At the time of his parinirvana, Garab Dorje ascended into the sky and dissolved into rainbow light. At this, Mañjushrimitra cried out in despair and distress, and made a very beautiful plea: “What will become of us now that you are passing away? You are the light of the world…”
Whereupon Garab Dorje was moved, and his hand reappeared, in which was a small golden casket, the size of a thumbnail, containing the teaching of Hitting the Essence in Three Words, which he let fall into the hand of Mañjushrimitra. As soon as he received it, his mind became the same as the wisdom mind of his master Garab Dorje.

Had to listen 3 times thru to make sure I really hear it . Supreme peace is experienced as myself which is not divorced from all of phenomena arising and subsiding, whether appearing as "inside" or "outside", and these categories do not actually hold up to the reality of indivisible Awareness/Self. Beautiful! 💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡 Update : while in the shower, shortly after listening to this, there was a deepening understanding of reality. For example, it is clear upon reflection that objects do not exist independently apart from myself the aware subject, therefore subject and object can merge, and are in fact both observed to be phenomena observed by awareness. Ok, but don't stop there. There is still a subtle duality in the above view. There is the "subject" (the little ego-self which I still get fooled into identifying with), and it's apparent "objects" which are both viewed to actually be one and arising/subsiding within awareness. And there is the Awareness itself within which this subject/object unity is beheld. Then the 3rd and most elusive/subtle shift in view of all... To realize that all views, whether of diversity as ultimately real, unity within diversity, or even that loftiest view of ultimate overarching unity as ultimately real,...all are held within the Primordial Awareness Self which neither arises nor subsides but is eternally the same, utter peace and full/emptiness. And this is the Primordial ground of Awareness which projects itself into all that arises, abides, and dissolves. Om🙏💚💚💚

We are Life at Large, experiencing itself as all of us simultaneously. Therefore, we are all It to an unknowable/inexhaustible extent, as the facets of a Diamond are 'both' distinct from each other 'and' the Diamond itself. Love is the recognition of our shared Being. Reality/God/Life = That which is/That I am - simply being aware of being aware. Life eternally actualizes infinite potential, because only Eternity can fully embrace Infinity. The abstract (Heaven) called Love can be expressed concretely (Earth) as a smile, hug, etc., thereby uniting Heaven and Earth.
