The fact that he had multiple suicidal ideations was an indication of a deep rooted mental disorder that was never understood. MH is not well understood sadly he needed to be in a mental institution. Another reason is wicked in-laws the hubby loved his wife too much but wicked in-laws interferences caused his brain to be conflicted and the pain was too much for him to handle. This can cause psychotic incidents which made him want to kill his wife and himself to take away his pain. Mama it’s not not your fault have peace ✌🏾

Those who say she should not have worked harder than the husband I am not sure who indoctrinated them to think that a woman's job is to be bare feet and pregnant with an outstretched hand begging for the husband to provide. A secure man is supportive of the wife's hustle and is her greatest cheerleader. I cannot see how her hard work was detrimental to the relationship. It seems like he had a mental health issue which got worse when he was intoxicated. Mental health is a cause of many suicide cases and also those threatening to commit the same. Many countries have suicide helplines toll free. I hope one day Kenya will invest in the service to make it easily available.

Peninah is a great lady that has gone through a lot even after being a very hard working lady and above all very blessed because clearly God loves her, and it is evident that her in laws need to reflect and know that they failed in advising their son, however the truth will always prevail no matter how much they keep lying to themselves. Peninah God loves you and will continue blessing you because you are innocent. The Grace of GOD is sufficient for you. When time allows get some counselling lessons for the young children because it will be helpful for their future.

Mental illness is what I can read on every occasion he brought up a fight. The crying he did was a call for help. It saddens that in 2023, Kenya has no Mental health awareness. Some mental health issues are hereditary thus I would advise Pauline to see a Psychiatrist, her children too. Break that chain of untreated mental health in families. You are not alone, in therapy, you will find many people worse than you. You have already been crucified, gossiped about, accused, beaten, cut among others. YOU NEED HELP. This case is why it is important to de-stigmatize mental health. The constant high and lows of the husband, his inability to hold down a job and the constant drinking, suicide ideation, violent outburst, coupled with what could be described as symptoms of depression are indicative of cluster B personality disorder, which is manageable with the right kind of treatment and medication. I think his parents knew that he was not like everyone else but they also did not understand mental health and were just hoping to pray it away or hoping that the "right" kind of woman will "fix" him, and when she didn't (obviously couldn't because that is not how it works) they blamed her for his behavior. Can we please have serious conversations about mental health in this country!
