It is common human nature to not believe the bad will happen around or to you, especially the young. Unfortunately, those with the least understanding are also the loudest with their nonsense. It was evident how upset you were on the way home by how quiet you were. Know that there are thousands of us out here that do value you personally and all our elders. I follow some people much younger than me on KZbin. They would sooth your heart. They are aware of so much and think straight. They are already stepping up. You and yours be safe, and don't be a stranger. Heck, take us on walks in the woods. Those are soothing and the conversation is good.

This situation ought to change the doctor's mind about meds. Push them hard for 90 day prescriptions. Look up GOOD-RX, then check the cash price for your meds through them. It is NO EXTRA COST OR MEMBERSHIP to use GOOD-RX. Put in the med, dosage and number of them and it will give you prices at pharmacies near you. If it is affordable, you save the coupon with the discount code for that med. Separate coupon for each med. Show the coupons to the pharmacist at the store you choose. We usually fill at Walgreen's, but I took the GOOD-RX and paper scripts to Kroger so as not to confuse the existing prescriptions. Push them so you can protect yourself now, and you can come see them when things calm down. Best of luck.

🙋🏼♀️ me too!! I’m 43 and very thankful I still have my mom and maternal grandparents. My mom was 16 when she had me so my grandparents played a much larger parenting role in my life. We have a fairly large family, everyone goes to visit mom and dad on Sunday’s-that has been our normal Sunday routine FOREVER...sadly we all agreed that normal activity had to stop in order to keep mom and dad alive. They’re in their early 80’s and both have a few health issues so this past weekend was the first Sunday none of us were with them, hanging out in our childhood home laughing and taking pictures and giving hugs and kisses to mom and dad. I was so lost that day, yes we talked on the phone but it’s not the same. My prayers have become seriously long talks with God, the divine, the universe and I find myself having these talks several times a day and I have been praying for everyone, everything, everywhere. I know my family is not the only one staying away from their elderly parents in order to keep them alive and well. I pray we can all adjust to this new way of living without too many problems.

When I worked in a nursing home and norovirus was rampant I would spray my shoes inside and out with Lysol or alcohol and let them air dry in the garage...they never came in the house! Dirty scrubs/clothes would go straight in the dirty hamper or washing machine... it's always a good idea to have a set or two of "town clothes" in these types of situations to prevent any surface contamination into your home. A rain jacket is good because you can spray it down without having to wait a long time for it to dry if you absolutely HAVE to leave home often. Edit: Current study shows this novel coronavirus can live on surfaces up to 2-3 days.

True words Mr Tom! I'm also in the same age group as you and I understand fully what you were saying. I'm now sheltered for the duration. I have been called a boomer, which I am and very proud to be part of that generation, raised by the "greatest generation" that survived the Depression and fought a world war. We were raised to respect people and property. These kids have no respect for anyone or anything. When they called me a boomer they were using it in a derogatory manner. I'm not sure when that became a "thing". I just shook my head. Maybe one day they will grow up and realize what they have missing in their life. Anyway, just wanted to say much respect for you Sir and what you have to share. God bless you and your family and keep you safe.

Dear Mr. Tom I enjoyed my visit with you today. There are those who care about other people, and those who care about themselves. When the hard times come the true nature of people shows. I have to say you have a kind and gentle soul. I have to also say you are not disposable, we need people just like you in the world. I miss my Mom and Dad horribly, and I'm 57, I don't think you ever get over missing them. I'm glad your son is looking out for you!! I've only been listening to your channel for a short time, but I've gained a lot. Know you are loved, and you have made a impact on many people. I know that just by reading the comments. I look forward to seeing many more videos from you, till next time, take care, and know that many people are thinking of you!!!

The last few weeks all I have wanted is to speak with my grandmother again. She passed about 12 years ago. Was in her 20’s during the Great Depression in London. Would get up in the morning and go to work through the streets that had been bombed the night before. After work she would have to run home before the air raid sirens and go into the bunker for safety, and sleep there with her family. They lived this way for years, on table scraps and fear. They knew true hardships. It’s a shame that generation is basically gone they were true survivors and they made the absolute best of everything they had which wasn’t much. God bless and stay safe, love from Canada 🇨🇦

Hi Mr. Tom, I was out doing the same thing. I am a diabetic and was getting my 3 month supply today. I am 48 and have heart problems so I am very worried about this. I plan on doing the same thing, staying in unless it is absolutely necessary. My son is 23 and the one thing my husband and I have always tried to teach him was to respect his elders. His only surviving grandparent is my husbands father, who is 70 and disabled, but thankfully lives right next door to us. So many younger generations take for granted all the information locked inside the minds of the elder generation. You are valuable and I thank you for taking the time to create these videos. My prayers are with you. May God Bless You and keep you safe.

Hey Mr. Tom, thanks for the ride. If you dont mind me saying, to me you are one of the best life commentators, narrator if you will. I have found that the younger generation have to learn as they go. I've been ringing that bell for weeks and I've heard it all. I've been a conspiracy theorist, crazy old guy and other things. When all the shelves became barren, them they wanted to discuss it with me. I work at a retirement community and I am very worried about my residents, doing everything to protect them from the outside influence. Young folks need to take the time to stop and listen to how much wisdom these elderly folks have to offer. I just hope I can stick it out and see them through this. It was great to see you and looking forward to seeing you again. Take care.

Positive thoughts do much good for the imune system, because as Jesus said, "as a man thinketh, he is". Can be selffuullfilling prophecy. So yes take precautionary measures, but always think good positive thoughts.

We are finding more and more that people are not taking this seriously enough and neither are businesses that claim they are. They just keep reminding us to use hand sanitizer and disinfect our area. I have become very anxious over the whole situation as I am young with a chronic respiratory condition. My state is starting to have surges in these cases. People better open their eyes and wake up, pay attention to what is happening in Europe right now because what is happening in Italy is coming, God help us all. Stay healthy and safe everyone!

Mr Tom I truly enjoy your videos. You are not disposable...you are valuable. I am 55 with severe back issues. My husband is getting ready to turn 69. He has lots of health issues now. You are so right about praying!!! I don’t think things in our country will get any better without us getting on our knees in prayer. You have such a good heart. I’m so glad you got your medicines. I really worry about us not being able to get our meds. We can only get a month at a time. I’ve heard the majority of our meds come from China. He wouldn’t last long without meds. We’ve been together since I was 19 and never dated anyone long term but him and I’m not ready to give him up yet. My momma would be over 100 if she were living. I learned to garden and can from her. I wish I could still grow a garden and can but my back just isn’t up to it now. I told my husband we really needed to put out a garden this year if there’s anyway we can. I used to put up a few hundred jars a year. I loved seeing your town. It looks a lot like our small town in Tennessee. I really look forward to seeing more of your videos. I got hurt and had back surgery at the end of 2018. I haven’t been able to work since. I used to work two jobs. I don’t like regular tv so I’ve really enjoyed and look forward to your videos. MR. Tom, you got those Mustangs you can take off anytime you want, buddy. Yesterday I went to the Cracker Barrel here in Gainsville, Texas for Sunday lunch. Saturday night, returning from Walmart myself I heard the Commerical from Cracker Barrel on the TV. The girl speaking said something that made me hold on to the kitchen sink even harder. I was already praying and crying for the fool who let this crap loose on the world. Seeing the wreck of Walmart Saturday was bad enough but the hearing things I never thought I would hear from these Texans. But then getting back home, I heard this woman for Cracker Barrel. She said something that made me cry any more. She said "Its time to come back home for dinner. Cracker Barrel" So Sunday at lunchtime I did go to Cracker Barrel. I ate, and enjoy myself even thou I'm all by my self in this world. I paid the bill then finding out the direct Manager of Cracker Barrel was the one who taken my order and delivered my Roast beef dinner. I returned from the cashier stand and went back to that man that manager and hugged him for the love and respect as I told him about the Cracker Barrel commercial. He finally really smiled when I left. I live just 67 miles north of Dallas Texas. Things have gone now from having a free life in Texas to stores of all kinds now in a shutdown. Our Mayor here is a nice man and now has so much on his plate. But here in North Texas, things are changing and I'm not sure now if this was what the scary movies about what they end left out. This right now is what I am talking about the reality of life. Rember the old folks who are home alone we too are concerned. Its hard to be old and by yourself. Yawl pray for our US Marines they sure have a battle in front of them.

Course all my friends are seniors too and we check on each other on the phone and internet.....at least we have that. Our state is in lockdown for the next 2 week and maybe longer. Doctors have canceled our routine visits....but we took precautions and prepared ahead of time. Some people thought we were foolish.... and now they are seeing what we were talking about. There is no fresh or frozen meat...or canned to be had...no pasta, rice, bread, or crackers....no water, milk, no liquor, no paper products of any kind.... So I am telling you older people to get some supplies before the shelves are bare because it is coming....

As a wise one once said, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." I'm not far behind you Mr. Tom. I'm not scared of dying. It's just I don't want to die like THAT. But, we don't get to choose, do we? I haven't heard any comments like that. But, I sure have read them on the internet. It is very disheartening. But, you're right. They will surely miss us when we are gone. I never had but one set of grandparents. They were both gone before I was 20. My parents are gone, too. And you are so right. I miss them every. single. day. Especially in times like these. I'm almost 53 now and my husband is almost 60. I can't keep him in the house Mr. Tom. I am hoping by the end of this week he will stay at home. And then hope it's not to late. I will send some up for you, too. And this crazy world.

'ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTANI" ! Forgive them Father, for they do not know what they are doing ! It was Jesus on the cross who said those words. And yes, you do get to chose to a certain extent. God bless you, God bless America, God bless Romania and Europe, and please, please be reasonable.
@theIAMofME4 жыл бұрын
@@sandybell1743 Oh yes. I am very aware who said it. I assumed it was a given that everyone knew who I meant. I would love to know how it is you get to chose how you get taken out of here. Leaving is no problem, it's the method or situation of how. You can not chose that. Car accidents happen, dying of an illness because you were born with a heart defect, being caught in a tornado, etc and so on. We do not get to chose. God Bless you too. And all of us. We truly need it.
@sandybell17434 жыл бұрын
I said "to a certain extent". 53 is not an age to be fatalist. I am 46 and feeling still like 30 or 35, honestly. And I am afraid of only one thing, and one only. Not to grow old by myself. Or just with cats. Whom I adore, by the way. :)))

Hi Mr. Tom! Thanks for all you do. One thing you might think about doing for a video is telling stories about what your parents or grandparents did during the depression or the WWII. Then, have people comment/tell stories about things they heard their parents, grandparents or great-grandparents did during those times. I’m 67 and my parents were born in 1908 and 1916, so growing up, I heard snippets of things they did or things that happened to them all during my childhood. They weren’t whining or anything, they would just say things as part of other conversations. It could be interesting.

Love this Mr Tom! I live in Northwest Illinois but I was born, raised, and lived my entire life until 15 years ago, in a small town in South Georgia. I’ve been taking this seriously since mid January when I started closely monitoring the national news outlets and various podcasts that were reporting on this story. I have always been a couponer so naturally always had a bit of stockpile of groceries. I began seriously loading up with groceries, food for my animals, and hopefully enough wipes and hand sanitizer for my family. No one, and I mean no one around me is at all concerned at all. Told me I’m nuts. My family totally are on board and realize what’s happening. I know exactly how you feel.

Mr. Tom, happy to see you again! I also went to see my Doctor for my meds and was surprised to see no one wearing a mask. One of the workers said that, they were not able to get any. Other patients, were not wearing any either. I was! There is so little regard for life, that it drives me crazy. Here in the Bronx, NY, only a few are wearing masks, even though the number of cases in the city are going up by the minutes. We are still letting people gather if below fifty, and schools are open to serve breakfast and lunch. So, I am expecting higher numbers all around. Mr. Tom, please take care of yourself, and during your quarantine do some videos in gardening, cooking, fishing, home projects, and foraging. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and your wisdom. I also love your side of the river, it's beautiful! God bless.
