placing the reverb on the track affects the whole audio signal and sending it through a bus allows you to only send a part of the signal while keeping the rest dry. it also saves on CPU and allows you to send other channels to the same bus. its much better to bus

how many plugins in a vocal chain do you need to bus?
@jusdinjohns4221

@@11tokajj you just choose the bus section and in your auxiliary fader you choose your filter. You don’t need to have a certain amount of filters to bus

Great video! on the busses comment though, I would say a big reason people use busses is to avoid any compression on time-based effects. It keeps it separate, and keeps the wet/dry on faders, which is more simple in a final mix when adjusting on the fly than remembering and opening plugins to adjust mixes on individual tracks, not to mention it gives you more options with automation and avoids any clipping or artifacts from delays when they're sent through a bus when doing something like a throw-delay. It's like setting yourself up for success so everything important is on the face of the mix. But that's just my opinion on it. I do agree not everything needs to be bussed in every mix.

tried a few vocal tutorials for logic and yours was super cool! I got Big Sur goin on, found everything where you showed it to be, the settings worked well though to me the delay on my vocals felt somewhat stronger (probably got some room delay/reverb going on), but overall all vocal settings you applied did exactly what you say they would. Keep it uuuuup! Would love to see if you recommend any plugin for creating harmonies or a 3d effect to a single voice track (singing)?

So, do you apply all those plugins for every track where there are vocals?? Like, for the tracks with ad libs and layers, do you EQ, compress, etc. all of them as well, just like the lead vocals??
@Baywood
@Baywood 2 жыл бұрын
yes! for adlibs, I tend to compress them harder than I do main vocals. cut the highs and lows to help it blend in and then throw on some reverb to push it to the back of the mix.

@Baywood
@Baywood 2 жыл бұрын
that depends on the situation really. if everything is in mono, everything will sound like it is right down the middle and have no stereo presence. you can use plugins in stereo on all sorts of things to send some audio into the stereofield , instruments, vocal fx, ect.
