That’s my plan with the last brand new Holden SSV Redline sold to me at Gerard Slaven Belconnen on 10 December, 2019. Built May 2017 it sat on the showroom floor for 2.5 years surrounded by Camaros. By sheer coincidence I drove it off the lot on the same day that Holden announced the “Commodore” name was going to be retired. It’s still got new car warranty for another year. My 19yo petrol head son gets to drive it and it will be in our family for at least two generations because he will not sell it either.

@Classic Cut Garage That was the last one off the assembly line. Like the XR8 in this video, mine is the last SSV sold brand-new from a dealership. Not as significant or valuable as the last one off the assembly line, but still an important part of Holden history.

@Classic Cut Garage Mate you’re missing the point. This video is about the last brand-new Ford Falcon by a dealership. Similarly, mine is the last brand-new Holden Commodore by a dealership and the last one down the assembly line. And yes, I believe the last Holden Commodore down the assembly line was auctioned sometime this year for big $. Fair play to the seller and the buyer. Both got a good deal I reckon.

As an American, I can understand that. It was American-branded, full-size, RWD and was available with an I6 and a V8. No wonder it was a huge mistake for Ford to never make any for the American market.

It's Premcar/Prodrive/Tickford/FPV that have done it (damn, they went through a few names! 😂), it's no different to HSV doing it to their final GTS-R for example. 👍

@@MafiaboysWorld HSV were officially part of Holden though, Premcar are not, and therefore the only thing that separates them from any other after-market tuning parts company is some somewhat dubious historical link to FPV. It's probably good enough not to have any real effect on the cars value though. I'm kinda sadder that its only done 89km in 5 years... it'll start falling apart fairly shortly if the new owner doesn't drive it at least a few hundred km a year.

@@Beer_Dad1975 Premcar is the ashes of Prodrive, which was Tickford before that, which was OFFICIALLY part of Ford when developing the E-series XR6s and XR8s. 👍

Hey Scotty, what was the number of the XR8 you let Aiden drive when you did the XR6 Sprint vs V8 Sprint article, do you remember? 🤔 As for this Falcon, I'm on the fence here. Can see the value in leaving it stock, especially when final Holdens are being sold for 750K and more, but when it's Premcar doing it themselves and they helped develop the car and the V8SC's aswell, they would know a thing or two about maximizing the car to get the most value out of it. 👍

No just the last one sold by Ford new . Ford knows exactly when one is sold it's on the database , they and all US company's do it ! I had 1970 ford V8 motor , I sent the engine number to Ford , they told me the exact day /time it was sold in 1970 , infact they even told me the colour of car and interior. So they just look up the date/time .

Wouldn't it be nice except the fact i would never able to afford it the last ford i had was as rare being an 98 au series 1 5ltr fairmont ghia wagon only made 165 an some bastard pinched that 3 months ago an hasn't been seen since an i got lucky when i found that also bein on dsp an a single dad ain't no way i could ever replace matchin numbers car like what i had cause it was a pure fluke finding it in the first place an there rakin upwards of 10 grand or more now worse is can even afford to fix my xh so thats probably gunna end up on the chopping for a shitty little 4 banger tell the truth I'd rather bloody walk actually

Seen it drive around in sunshine west, in fact dragged it and let it in my wake, with my ssv redline, lol, also really its not that special outside trim differences, but still a FG XR8 running gear problems with diff bushings and also even if you wanted to change the diff oil you cant, most of the ass end has to come out t do it? Looked it over the FGX XR8 back in late 2015 and again dash same, the Radio area etc other than the infotainment screen is larger etc all 2009 FG stuff, which is why i did not buy one, was looking at a FG GTE at the time at binks ford in footscray and my VT5 lt had more go than that did, maybe there's something wrong with it, anyway still was not impressed compared to the VF Holden REDLINE?
