The late great Dennis Kenyon. What a gentleman and master of rotorcraft. I had the pleasure of having Dennis do a few anual check rides for me and would learn something new every time. There was always several of us that were having our check rides with him and he would tell you to never do this or that but if you do then you need to know how to recover. You knew you were in for the ride of your life but his theory was that it's alright saying don't do this or that but it was very easy to actually just do that. Auto rotations and vortex were his specialties but going through these two with him you knew that following his instructions would help you to survive and walk away from getting into them. RIP old mate

@@grahamthebaronhesketh. What a nice guy he was, always smiling, I never got down to Shoreham with him as he always came up to Pembrey airport and I think once in Haverfordwest but it was always a pleasure to fly with him. He told us of the time his son went to fly in his own helicopter with a couple of mates and the helicopter fell apart when the the tail boom stabilisers snapped off due to bad welding and which resulted in the deaths of all 3 on board when he was just 18 years old

@@grahamthebaronhesketh. I did all my training on the 300 which is a very forgiving machine and was doing my solo cross country by 10 hours. I had chance to do a bit of training on the R22 at the time but found it very tight to sit in and didn't fancy doing any auto's in one so stuck with the 300 and then the R 44

@grahamthebaronhesketh. I said he ran out of talent, I never said he died. It says he walked away.
