Traditionally, Pac-12 women's volleyball produced revenue and their teams dominated the sport. However, within the past 30 years teams from the Big XII, B1G, ACC, and even the lowly SEC have caught up so that when a B1G school visits LA, there should not be a drop-off in attendance.

Conference membership is mainly about scheduling- what history and tradition is there for the UC BOR involving themselves in the details of scheduling ? Do they approve of every game scheduled by UCLA and CAL ? (I somehow doubt it.) If not, then what's their express authority over UCLA choosing to play ball in one conference's schedule vs another ??? Okay, season is over. Bowls are set, playoff is set, time to announce conference realignment moves… Is the Pac12 getting raided further or not ? They’ve had enough time to expand and/or sign a new media rights deal, but haven’t done either It’s time to put the Pac12 down. Time to bolt, forthwith. Just sew up a Big12 contract addition for the adds with ESPN and/or Fox, and get it on. It’s not the Big12 or Big10’s fault that George Kliavkock is incompetent. The Pac12 members have to do what’s best for themselves, save themselves from Kliavkoff’s mismanagement. It’s verging on gross neglect.

Moving to the BIG is a great move for UCLA and USC, but a terrible move for the BIG. The added TV revenue from being in LA isn't going make up for having to split the revenue an additional 2 ways. If the people in LA were tuning in to watch UCLA and USC in large numbers the PAC would have had enough money to keep their conference together. UCLA will just be content to cash the check and continue their mediocre ways. USC might show a bit more moxie but they have been largely irrelevant the past decade and appear to be ok with that so maybe they will just cash the check and be content.

@@donaldawillis11 but if we are going by academics and athletics as a whole and both universities I mentioned have been consistent winning in all sports and UNLV has not been consistent even in men’s basketball since the late 90s and all their other men’s and women’s sports/athletics are deplorable. Where as the two I mentioned have national title appearances to actual championships to show and have not fallen to the wayside like UNLV has in men’s hoops. Reno is not chump change. While Logan, Utah is not LA or Las Vegas, but is a top 100 media market for what it is worth. Since Tark was the head coach of the men’s basketball, UNLV has been more bad than good or even decent. Again one of the colleges I mentioned is AAU and other is applying. UNLV is R1 and just got that distinction and congratulations to them; now do more academically and PAC12 or Big12 or the AAC from non power conferences might come looking. The American Athletic Conference has never forced the academic issue because of wanting to be presence across the country in all sports to garner support to regain power status they lost. My point is that UNLV can be a possibility but there are better options. My suggestions for PAC12 to go to 16 have always been: 1. San Diego State 2. Fresno State 3. Utah State 4. Colorado State 5. Who are these guys? First off, the guy at the 10 min mark say USC hasn't won a Pac12 conference title since 1998. Later when they are confronted with their mistake, these guys seem totally confused. Please explain the NC's and major bowls during the Pete Carroll era. They also don't know much if anything about the schools pther than football since they have to be told about the non-Pac12 conferences that certain sports play in. Or that UCLA is NOT the traditional rival of USC. It is a onesided view of the game as ND is the traditonal rival (as seen by being the last game of the year) for the Trojans. Second, if Cal just cared about football, then they AND Staford would almost assuredly be off to the B1G. Cal might even be preventing UDub from going. And then with both USC and Stanford in the conference, ND would be MUCH more likely to join. Too bad the Cal people don't see this.

So I will explain this as simply as possible for you. rival (adjective) - having the same pretensions or claims - can also mean “equal” or “peer.” UCLA has 1/2 or a NC from 1954. That is 68 years ago (The Spanish American War is closer to that championship than than that date is to today). We have 11 NC's. A couple in this century! UCLA has 1 Heisman winner (generally considered the worst winner in the history of the award). USC has 7. No sir, you/UCLA are not our rivals. USC/ND is the traditional last game for both schools until it was mutually decided to move the South Bend game up so as not to be ruined by bad weather. In fact, both schools have stated that this game is the only one that never be given up. So you see, ND is our peer. Not UCLA. Sorry.
