My wife just broke her SE 2nd gen and bought a used 13 mini. Best decision she could ever make: small, cheap and she doesn't have to wait for the bloody 4th gen SE.

@@misterchuck6866 Since it will (apparently) be the last iPhone mini, it’s a must have, at least for me and my wife that we value the small factor over anything else. It’s not that far generational wise, from current iPhones, performance wise I never complained the 2nd gen SE’s so this should be even better and with normal use it’s indiscernible from the SE, battery wise it lasts the whole day and that’s enough, price wise I got my wife’s barely used, with one year of warranty left, 99% battery life for 450€ but you can find them below 300€ no kidding and an official battery swap from Apple is 80€ here in Italy. I will get it too next year

Thank you for being brutally honest about Apple and their money grubbing tactics. The only thing sadder than the outdated tech on the SE models is the fact that the Apple sheep fandom continue to accept the low-tech on the SE models as "vintage, quirky coolness" . Meanwhile, Samsung, Pixel, and OnePlus are actually making phones with tons of value because you know, not everyone has $1,200+ to spend on a new phone.

biased much? I'm not exactly an Apple fan, but most of your comments are ridicuolous and contradictory. How is it going to be a iPhone 8 design with and OLED screen and no home button? Isn't it more likely, as all the mock-ups show, a iPhone 14 but with a single camera? the case would fit that design. Also the screen on the current iPhone SE is is the same size as the old iPhone mini. it's hardly "only big enough for ants" many people prefer smaller phones. The camera too is not "crap-tastic" it is arguably as good as most other £400 cameras. Don't count camera quality on the amount of lenses

First SE using 5s is ok (I still use mine btw), 2nd using 8 is also ok but the 3rd one using the same chassis is not ok when they have older phones that they could have used (XR in particular). The SE 4 should use a 12 mini design.

its not suprising to me that apple treat the se as an afterthought. they don't want you to buy the cheaper options, they want you to shell out for an iphone 16 pro max right out the gate. if you want a cheaper phone that offers decent specs and performance, you go android.

If true, this is terrible news. Soon as the initial design leaked, and the se4 rumors of a 6.1 screen began, I started hunting down available iPhone mini 13s. Like so many others, I love this phone, but obviously not enough of us. And those of us who bought the 12, saw little need to upgrade to the 13. There was a great deal of presumption that the se4 would be built on the 13 Mini platform since Apple spent so much developing it and bringing it to market. Discovering the SE4 would be based on the iPhone 14 was hugely disappointing. If you are correct, and the form factor is not changing at all, well, that news is devastating.

I like the se3 design, i would love the se4 to be repurposed iphone 13 mini. A repurposed 14 is good too on the cheaper side but left something to be desired. Having a cheaper lineup is cool since i do like ios ui.
