Hey Alison, instead of squeezing the potato and onion mixture by hand, here’s a tip; put all the mixture in a tea towel and put it in a salad spinner. Whiz.. whiz… all the water cones out in seconds.

My Jewish son in law makes the latkes around here. Fabulous. Never reject a leftover latke. My Episcopalian next day breakfast: Recrisp those babies in a dry iron skillet, top with full fat skyr yogurt and a slice of homemade gravlax and extra dill. At 11am, a Bloody Mary is the best companion.

Interesting comment! I'm marrying a Jewish guy and whenever he says something is "Jew food" I'm constantly confused.🤣 Then we argue (did Jews invent boiling a chicken?). My point is there are so many common dishes because Jews were nomadic and because of Kosher law, things they ate often, they became known for. In the end, we agree we are all people that just want to eat good food!🤗

I LOVE ur home movies!! I just found the latkes one six months late (or early depending on ur perspective) I am a Sephardic Jew and we call our latkes “edjeh”. They are made the same exact way. Believe it or not we will stuff a pita with edjeh and eat it like a sandwich. (I know it’s a double starch) but that’s how we eat them even on Hanukkah

You were ALMOST right about that scream line! Yes, “what’s your favorite scary movie” is the iconic line, and “wanna play a game” is definitely Saws, but in scream right before Drew’s boyfriend gets killed maskface tells her “I want to play a game” and he makes her guess scary movie answers. Lol so you knew what you were talking about!

hi, alison, long time viewer first time caller. you were right re: scream. they do play a game. killer asks horror movie trivia questions, which drew answers in the hope of saving her boyfriend's life (she fails). then, ultimately, game switches to "what door am I standing at," which drew answers in the hope of surviving herself (she fails). thanks for the latkes!
