I remember Bowie once speaking of being an early Pink Floyd fan. If someone told me Syd Barret wrote this song, and I didn't already know better, I would easily believe them.

This is making me chuckle on an otherwise terribly sad day.

not many peeps notice but i mixed and mastered this mono song into a stereo song in 2008 for this video, it's the first stereo version of this song ever made that i know of, they later released a stereo mix in 2010

This has always been my favourite David Bowie song. I just can't believe he died, just doesn't seem real. He will be truly missed. Rest in peace, I hope God has sent you to a much better place.

This is such a stupid comment but i want to thankyou for making this video. Im turning 16 tomorrow and remembered this. Every summer we would spend it at my nanas, when we took bubble baths we would listen to “the lion sleeps tonight” then come out and have a dance party to this video while we let our nana brush our hair and paint our nails. It became a family joke, we would play it after a good hour or two after playing moshi monsters and laugh our head off at the little gnome. One of my favourite child hood memories was watching this exact video with my family, thanks for making this ❤❤

I love this song as it was fun and silly in my childhood. I was never a fan of Bowie although I liked Major Tom and Starman!

I like that, but frustrated that I can't find the original video that I remember seeing on Top of the Pops when the record was re-released in the early 70s.
