Ahoi Malizians - thank you for sharing this inizitializing chapter with your followers - great! I would appreciate a comment on following subject: A recent report on this channel, dealing with substantial improvements applied to the skippers cockpit/ cabin and carried out by IMOCA was very interesting to watch. Enhancements related to: substantially higher level of security inside the cockpit -particularily during rough seas- location of instruments/ computers,displays etc, for better accessibilty, grinder's location, forward visibility, skipper's bunk and many more. Please let me know., if these improvements, resp."new type" of cockpit has been / will be installed on 'Malizia'' for upcoming Vendee Globe.? Thank you!

Make sure he has a bag of extra needles in case he needs to fix a sail again, I recall, he had two needles left ?! I’m sure if you hide an small bag with 50 extra needles somewhere on the boat, you can tell him and make him very happy when the time comes….

Looking at it from down here in Australia, it still seems a bit eerie to be playing with race boats in the shadow of the WW2 sub pens. These are things we only see in documentaries. Not a part of our day to day experience.
