The Lauten tom mics sound super also and let minimal cymbal bleed in YOU NEED TO TRY THEM!

@@goingto11 I just ordered a full set from sweetwater and they sound AMAZING I have an 8 piece it of DW Collectors Series Mahogany and Maple and those mics just make them boom! I mic on both the top & bottom and it just brings a depth that gets the full resonance of the drum! I have DPA 2015s for overhead (4 corners XY) A Shure boundary inside on a Shu mount, a Telefunken M82 @ the sound hole and a WA47 or Telefunken Copperheads on the outside of the kick and I am using a Neve preamp to run the kit through plus I have a Roland Octapad and a TD 50 because all drums are triggered! I added Evans Hydraulic heads on all the toms because they really give a nice stick attack. I kept the snare heads that came with kit they are Evans batter coated so if it's not broke don't fix it! 😉 The Lauten Clarion (it's almost eight feet in the air) is what I use for a center overhead and an LS320 for a room mic on a short stand! Those drum shields really cut down on kit bleed into vocalists mics! Our band is an eight piece Traditional Country and western swing band but we haven't forgotten our roots we also perform a few southern gospel tunes every show and it seems to go over well. Are you still the FOH Engineer at your church? Perhaps we'll have to stop there and join your praise group for a service or two when we roll through your town, I thought I heard you say you were in Detroit?

I just got the Silencer plug-in too. Having a consistent drum performance with a Ludwig Black Beauty helps as well! One could key the side mic's gate from the Lauten? I like the "shell technique" much, much more than a bottom mic!

Were any of the filters on the snare mic used? I have one and I still havent used any of the filters yet. I just love how it sounds as is.

I forgot to mention in the video that all the filters were flat. I thought I might have to use one of the low roll-off's, but it was good flat.

You probably could, but there are probably other mics voiced better for vocals.

You got a bit more hat bleed due to the placement being next to the hi-hat. It should really be right underneath and facing away from the hats.
