I am a native Californian, older woman who has watched this perverse game of political football for decades. There has been ample time and technology over these decades for complete robust enforcement against illegal entry. And processing for legal immigration. Powerful interests (government and business) somehow stand in the way of the obviously achievable goal of a secured border.
