My 84 year old mother that has worked since she was 14 years old and walked to school and became a nurse (now retired) and then sold junk in roadside flea markets for years until she became ill cannot afford her heart medication without help. She lives on less a month than most immigrants spend in a week. Why can't this money be used to help our greatest generation afford their medication? Do we not owe them at least enough to minimize their suffering in their "golden" years?
