The funny thing is that Sasho Mackenzie has started this laying down hype years ago and he said that it would help to square the club face. You say it requires a ton of force to square it. Thats what confuses me.

Hi Swing Searcher, we have published our results of the golfer's effort to move the club in all 3 dimensions. There is a hindrance to face squaring from the sum of the forces having a component of negative beta force during "laydown" so we would report the opposite effect. More torque is needed to square the face

Maybe Sasho means comparatively speaking. The lay down is MUCH easier to square the face vs a DRAMATIC LAG HOLD type of swing(handle dragging, dramatic open face scrape, ). Laying down is MUCH easier vs that type of feel but of course there is resistance.
