For those about to rock, we salute you 🫡🤘🏼
LYNCHPiN on The Laymans Project! 🙌🏼
Imagine travelling all the way to Germany to perform at a death metal festival, only to be told that you are not actually death metal...
Imagine being told that Sievan's incredible vocals are a result of equal parts natural talent and vanilla cookies...
Imagine Gerard in a purple dress...
We discuss all that and much more (touring, marketing, producing, etc etc) with these monsters of the metal scene on episode 006 of The Laymans Project.
Join us!

Very insightful. Just hearing the details of what goes on behind a show was impressive and the fact that LYNCHPiN will always be looking to step up their game 👌🏼

Lol I feel like y'all deeply misunderstood what Ger was saying about bands who just cool where they are. There's a certain tier of bands, whether they have gifted players or not, who jam with their friends, for their friends, make some beers money off the gig, and it's really about playing and having a good time for them. And that's completely fine. We love that. And there's room for everyone. BUT, it's highly unlikely that record labels will notice bands that don't stand out, host quality shows, have merch and a following, and a good social media presence. So it's not likely that a band would be approached to step out of T&T, to have the opportunity to say, "nah I'm good here." The bands that have their ducks in a row, are professional in their behaviour, mindset, and performances, have their press kits, artist riders, travel arrangements sorted... it's A LOT... Those are the bands who are more likely to be noticed and approached. And it's those bands who will be most likely poised to accept the challenge.

I just feel that, with music specifically, if you take your time and effort to create something, you’d wanna share it with people that can appreciate it…after that, my brain is telling me that I’d wanna find as many people that can appreciate my art to share it with, which is what kinda naturally fuels the expansion…everyone is different yes, but if you paved the way for most ppl, somewhere along the line they would be able to appreciate a larger platform, whether it’s for the money or just the exposure…

A great listen, with insights not only into the Band's journey, and the obstacles they faced but the machine it has become by building it's brand. It's a nice window into this realm not just for other musicians seeking to build their own brand, but also the masses in the scene. You are their target audience and the 'customer'. This shows how they see it and the importance of budling YOUR Brand.

I've been going though some rough internal stuff over the past few months and what Gerard and Sievan said about learning how to and being simpatico with one another really helped put some things in perspective. As for the religion thing, for something that's supposed to be the "good and right thing" it sure do create allot of bigots for things that are harmless. Maybe one day Trinidad would have no Primary School that's associated with ancient mythology.

Sorry to hear that you've been going through it, but we are glad to know you got some new perspective from their story. Not to sound self-promotional, but our episode with Dominic Dos Santos (ep 003) is about Mental Health. Perhaps you can check it out to find some helpful perspectives or resources in there as well. Peace be the journey ✌️
