The Lazy Players Guide to 99 Smithing

I'd like to add to this guide, when smithing darts... The ideal inventory is hammer, dart tips (the ones you are smithing) and your noted bars (for the dart tips). Once your inventory is done... use the noted bars on the banker and hold down 1... this will unote your bars without ever having to bank, saving you several game ticks over the hours. I averaged about 1100-1150 bars / h doing this method :) Good luck everyone!

love the vid, but i'd also mention platebodies. not as 'afk' in the sense of you can walk away from your comp, but the xp isn't much worse than gold when you hit addy plates and it costs a whole 6m 88-99

Blast Furnace is not exactly AFK, but once you are used to it you can at least watch videos while doing it (case to point, I'm smelting Runite while watching this)

I feel making an alt just means enjoying the quests more, also levelling ur character and doing quests in ways and an order that would benefit you early more than ur main which most of us, me included, learned on and bankstanded way too much

Absolutely not bro, get to 40 smithing with quests and whatever other training required (less than 1h most likely), then hit up blast furnace gold with goldsmithing gauntlets, you will absolutely fly up to the 70s within 4 hours.

sadly you lose money with rune dart tips currently

Same with adamant dart tips. The price of rune dart tips crashed last summer and haven't really recovered since. You're going to make heavy losses if you're going to do adamant and rune dart tips. Less so with adamant dart tips, it's about a 700k loss from 74 to 89, but rune dart tips is an insane loss. You will lose about 2k per rune bar, you need to do around 110k from 89 to 99, so that's a total loss of 230m for 89-99.

Making darts you do not need to bank. Have all bars noted in inv. Use the noted bars on the bank booth, press 1, or click yes. Can do this with cannon balls as well. Way faster to just leave the cannon balls or darts in inv.

If you want to buy it all at the same time, yes. But you can buy a little at a time and sell the created resource back, then continue you. Really all you need is what you'll lose in the end.
