I think Toast having spend so much time with Scarra and Shiphtur moulded his perspective on professsional e-sports. He knew how much they sacrificed to play competitively, and how much passion they had for the game compared to the modern day multi-million dollar players. He only wanted players with that mindset, and made sure they knew that whatever funds they had would go into things that would help make the team better, not fancy jerseys or videos. He wanted the players to earn their keep, and the players rose to the challenge
