Hapo for term limits it's a big NO !! Imagine ruto has been in power just for 2 years and the country is burning, then imagine we had to wait for 7 more years for him to go ?? NO NO NO !! We want him gone as in yesterday!

Sadly it's not that easy. Democracy doesn't work in Africa. In fact in general it doesn't exist. You can't have a chokora being a leader. We need nobility.

Prof! I think your recent prophecies that have come true went to your head. How can you advocate for the removal of term limits when you see the likes of Museveni, Kagame, Sassou N'guesso, Paul Biya, Teodoro Obiang Nguema, Faure Eyadema who are presidents for life? If there are no term limits it will be impossible to remove Ruto thru the ballot.

Richard ! Word up! Kindly fine tune your interviewing style and allow your guests some personal space and time to listen and respond to your questions ✋️ Kindly back off from Predicting, Interjecting, Talking over and Interrupting the guest so the world can hear, learn and follow the conversation. You're a promising host but slightly immature in your presentation which shadows your amazing knowledge bank of the issues which impact Kenya/Kenyans. This is a gentle critique from your DIASPORAN family.I used to be just like you 😆 I matured yay! Greetings from San Francisco.

As a Haitian 🇭🇹 I love this man from the time he started to speak, he’s real and very blunt. Those are the people we need in Haiti, not mental slavery and propagandists. The Kenyan people need to be told the truth. Majority of Haitian politicians are brought and paid for by the less than .0001 percent Lebanese oligarchs who’s doing the dirty deeds of the U.S. government and own 90% of Haiti 🇭🇹

@DumaM-ir7rk thank you for responding to my comment. My wife and I went to South Africa 5 years ago that’s where my daughter and her husband decided to have an African wedding , because it was not safe to go to Haiti which she never gets a chance to visit. My wife and I booked an expensive suite at the Mandela Hotel in cape town because we wanted a room where we can get a good view of Cape Town. We experienced so much racism at the hotel from people who looked exactly like us and I’m from Haiti, I’m use to mix race people being racism, thinking that they are superior, but not from people who look like me. From the time we walked to the Hotel until we left my wife and I were treated like second class citizens, we didn’t understand it until a guy who we hired to drive us around he was not South Africa, he spoke French, I forgot where he said he was from. He told us they thought we were African from a neighbor African State and they don’t like other Africans that’s why they are giving us a hard time . One time we came back to the hotel, the elevator that led to the suites is separated from the other elevators to all the regular hotel rooms , we saw the security guard ran inside the elevator full with white people to tell us we’re in the wrong elevator, when we showed him the our card that opened the sliding door to get to the elevator he then apologized. When we go to the service desk we were ignored until they are done taking care of the white clients.

@DumaM-ir7rk Lebanese immigrants began arriving in Haiti in the 1880s, fleeing civil war in their home country and stopping in Haiti on their way to the United States. Some of these immigrants decided to stay in Haiti, and others continued to arrive between 1895 and 1941 as part of the Arab Diaspora. They are now the corrupt oligarchs who are working in behalf of the U.S. most of them have more than one passport.
@sergeg9682
@sergeg9682 2 ай бұрын
@DumaM-ir7rk the colonialists don’t seems to change their strategy when it works for hundreds of years. They use the Dominicans against the Haitian the same way. Due to the impoverished of Haiti, the Haitian end up going to the Dominican Republic to work for 10 times lesser money. That also creates the same conflict between the two nations leaving next to each other. By the way, the Dominican Republic has been used for all the coup D’eta the U.S. government did in Haiti to assure Haiti does not become independent.

@DumaM-ir7rk believe it or not, I also experienced that, it was the strangest experience. My wife and I traveled everywhere in the Caribbean, many places in Europe, Mexico and Panama. But it was our first time in Africa. We made reservations with the Hotel to have someone picking us up, the person we sent was a very light skin man looked like a Puerto Rican. Maybe that was my first mistake asked him if he was Puerto Rican, the man treated us like if he could walked away he would. He did not helped us with our luggages, he didn’t speak to us throughout the whole trip to the hotel unless I asked him something and his answers to me was very blunt. It was so bad where I was going to tip him, my wife held my hand. And we always tip everybody for service but this time my wife said to me this guy is rude I’m not tipping him. You just remind me of that, but at the time i didn’t see it this way, we just couldn’t understand why he was so indifferent.

Mzee be very careful as you let your mind drift into no term limits. Most "democracies" I know in Africa only exist by name. The people vote, yes, but the final decision about the winner is made by those who many a time don't even cast a single vote.

Why one term of 7 years and not one 5-year term. Have you considered countries like Australia or the UK that have 3-year terms. And those three years are not guaranteed. Poor opinion polls are enough to oust a prime minister. It's not the president who matters, it's the party.

There are several reasons why some older people may be reluctant to relinquish power: 1. Fear of loss of identity and purpose: Their position of power may define their sense of self-worth and identity. 2. Fear of being irrelevant: They may feel that relinquishing power means they will no longer be valued or needed. 3. Desire for control: They may enjoy the sense of control and authority that comes with their position. 4. Lack of trust: They may not trust others to carry on their legacy or make decisions as they would. 5. Emotional attachment: They may be emotionally attached to their position or the organization they lead. 6. Fear of aging and decline: They may be trying to hold on to their youth and vitality by clinging to power. 7. Personal interests: They may have personal interests tied to their position, such as financial benefits or prestige. 8. Habit: They may be accustomed to being in charge and find it difficult to let go. It's important to note that not all older people exhibit this behavior, and many are willing to pass on the torch and mentor others.

@@BalaaBluu Article 261* of our Constitution provides an option for the DISSOLUTION of Government with the CJ overseeing the process. It’s just that most African leaders are greedy for power. In Europe PMs resign all the time. Even the French president called for fresh elections before his term ended. In Africa, for a leader to freely leave office- would take a miracle or they’d have to be forced. It’s so sad, but we will get there. Even if not in this generation. We will get there, for Light ALWAYS overcome.
