As conflicting as the finale is, I prefer to think that every tv show, movie, cameo, and project that Scott Bakula did after QL was actually Sam Beckett "leaping from life to life"..so Sam has always been with us!

I might be in the minority, but I loved the finale. So many shows have the story completely end in the finale…I like the idea of the story continuing after the show ends. I also think it was a good time to end the show, because the cracks were starting to show by the 5th season. The evil leaper episodes were fun, but a bit too campy. Plus, the show started relying on gimmicks like having celebrity episodes. I really think a 6th season would’ve been a big drop in quality. The writing would’ve probably gotten too silly like so many other great shows.

It's not supposed to be a reboot, they're calling it a continuation and sadly neither Scott or Dean will be in it, Dean obviously because he's passed on and NBC didn't want Scott involved so that killed my enthusiasm for it immediately.

@@maccagrabme Me too 100%. I couldn’t finish the first episode either. It’s a another dimly lit, cheaply made, glorified soap opera like so many other low quality shows on tv anymore. The writing, direction, and acting were all frighteningly bad. Such a dumbed down version of QL.

Should always be a clause in any TV show to allow the film makers in the instance of being cancelled to be able to make at least 1 episode to close a series.

That is a cool idea. I know some studios would be against it. However fans could chip in for that episode to be a part of history and see their characters story come to a true conclusion, well offsetting some of the production cost studios might be concerned about.

These guys, Scott, Dean & Don, are the nicest guys I've ever come across, and are so funny. Their humour is different to an English person's sense of humour for sure, but so funny!! Dean is so missed. So charming and quirky and kind. Love him 💗

I thought someone was crazy when they posted that they were thinking of a _Magnum P.I. / Quantum Leap_ crossover. I knew there was both a _Murder She Wrote_ and _Simon & Simon_ crossover with the show. But I heard it here from the Don's mouth. He may have mocked his guy for saying Sam would have to leap into Tom Selleck and not Thomas Magnum, but Don's would have been a really bad idea.

Después de volver a ver Quantum Leap, casi 30 años después, yo tenía 8 años cuando la vi por primera vez y recordar que Sam Beckett nunca volvió a casa, me dejo con amargo sabor de boca, se que el Dios de la serie era benevolente y sí le permitió a Sam salvar a su hermano, obviamente le permitiría terminar su misión y regresar a casa con la ayuda de su querido amigo Al. Y otra cosa que me da consuelo es que Scott sigue por ahí haciendo su vida y que no está atrapado en los hilos del tiempo corrigiendo vidas todavía jaja. I love the show BUT in the first season they made it like Sam’s mind/soul was leaping. I could buy that. Then they flat out made it clear it was his body leaping. That’s harder to buy. Especially when leaping into Dr. Ruth who is tiny and Sam is 6 feet tall. Him fitting into their clothes and eyeline doesn’t make sense.

He had just recently survived a pretty serious stroke when this was going on. I'm sure he was in pain and his concentration wasn't 100%, but he still soldiered through. Sadly before he passed he had lost large parts of his memory, including ever doing Quantum Leap, it was beginning during this time, which is why he couldn't really remember the things people were asking about. I'm very grateful they could get him in the spotlight again while he was still able to participate and enjoy it.
