There use to be gates and flashers at this crossing. They were removed some time ago and replaced by traffic 🚦 signals.

Media resident and regular 101 rider here! This is definitely one of the stations that I pretty much never see riders get on or off, and when they do it's a surprise. Kind of makes sense when there's not much around, but I think it should get more because the park is pretty nice. I know in local developments with the line, the main thing around it is that the part of the line going down State Street in Media is looking to be double-tracked in the coming years as part of accessibility requirements related to SEPTA getting new trolleys in the next few years. The fact that it helps clear up one of several bottlenecks on this line that stunts its current potential is gravy. Great video!

@SteveGetting: I've long suggested that there needs to be complete double tracking of this line. The ridership more than warrants it. They'll have to double track on State Street which will no doubt be somewhat of a disruption and reduce parking for businesses on that street. It's definitely necessary and I've more than suggested it for more than quite some time.

This station is the best station to go rail fanning stop all the time to fan the 101

I think this crossing use to have gates and flashers. Now long removed in favor of traffic signals. It doesn't make sense doing this.
