Thanks for the video. I agree the Surge is king 👑 I carry mine at work (as an aircraft mechanic) with a bit kit/extension in the pouch and have every day since I purchased it about 5 years ago. I think it’s a great addition and so durable. Like you, if I lost or somehow (although unlikely) it was totally destroyed I would pay the money to replace it even though I paid less when I bought mine. You should get yours fixed under warranty I’ve used Leatherman’s warranty several times for other stuff and they’ve never disappointed me. Thanks for sharing!

I concur with your video. I'm hard on my tools and the Surge is the only all locking Leatherman I haven't broken.

Great multitool. Thanks for sharing. Send it back to leatherman. They will take care of you.

Great Review- First, I think you should buy a Back-Up Surge. Always, Always have a backup. Prices going up with Leatherman, so buy now. Secondly, i think you should send it back to Leatherman to fix. However, click on Sentimental and remove those cutters before sending, as they have better design than newer ones. [They would replace it with the new 'bad' design] Also, since it is sentimental- write/type an additional note telling them to only replace the broken part and keep everything else including plier head etc, if you wish. Remember remove the cutters before sending.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I never got around to sending my surge in the mail. I had the shipping label and box ready to go, but for whatever reason, I never got around to it. I'm really glad I saw your comment before she got sent for repair. Thanks brother. And thanks for watching.

For about eight years I carried the Charge. Then I just went back to knives. Then back to the Charge but in a much different way of carry that I won't get into. My cousin liked that my way too but got the Surge but used from his pouch. My way was always from the pocket. Anyway, I really like his Surge and I got one too but carry in my pocket in my unique way. The Surge just offers so much more. Gave you a sub and like. Thanks.

hello, how you carry the surge?

This is about the limits of what I would call a "real" tool multi-tool - by that I mean that if it were any smaller or lighter weight it wouldn't hold up well enough for heavy use. There is a little bit of flex in the handles when I squeeze them with the pliers deployed, but not much. It is unlikely that I could permanently bend them with one hand. I'm assuming I have significantly more grip strength than most people, so most people probably wouldn't notice it. Regardless, it's a great multi-tool, bridging the gap between convenience and ruggedness. Cheers.

Basically, it's for people to get real work done, not just something for the tacticool kit-kiddies. 😏

Do you pocket carry or use the knife holster? (I like the idea of a multi-tool but worry about the bulk & weight for EDC...)
@RonBlackstock Жыл бұрын
I almost always wear the leatherman sheath on my belt. It has a place to store the bit set, driver extension, and my streamlight. It may seem bulky to some, but I don't go a single day without it. It's kinda like concealed carry. Once you become accustomed to it, you don't even notice it. If you don't want to wear the sheath, you can buy the pocket clip that's designed for it from leatherman. I kinda wish it came with the surge and you didn't have to buy it separately. Thanks for watching brother. Stay safe out there.

Cool video mate. Always happy to watch more EDC videos. Surge is one of the few Leathermans I have never owned. Just wondering you mentioned sheath carry and you StreamLight. Is it a Microstream you carry?

I can't stand that it has proprietary bits vs standard ones.
