The Legend of Darkish Knob

A local ghost legend from Parsons West Virginia.
Darkish Knob is a ghost story about a young slave girl who fleeing for her life on horseback went to the top of Darkish Knob and the horse lost it's footing and they both fell to their deaths! Supposedly on the eve of her death she still lets out a terrified scream!
The story was adapted and written for this video by Angela Johnson

Interesting. I notice that the knob is back of my house. May be why my dog, Clooney,often comes racing for the back porch after dark as if all the hounds of hell are after him

Thanks for watching and commenting. :) You or should I say they are correct it's actually called, Darkey Knob like you said in reference to what the called African Americans back then. I just kept the title in pace with the numerous versions of the story. I'm currently working on a new video about Darkey Knob which will give a little more info on the legend. Still trying to do more research before I finish it but it's a slow and painful search but I'm getting there................ hopefully! :/

Check out Fanslers History of Tucker county it mentions why they call it Darkey Knob. I have had residents tell me they do hear screams coming from the mountain and some homes in the area of Darkey Knob report paranormal happenings. All in all it's a cool legend and beautiful area.

My friends and I will be going camping this October in Parsons specifically for Darkish Knob. We are planning on staying at a campground, do you have any info on directions to the area where you filmed or should we make friends at a bar in town and ask locals? Good video!

+Tim Mick Productions Thanks for the input and warning (no bar seriously haha) we mainly wanted to go somewhere different for camping this year. We used darkish knob as kind of excuse for going somewhere else. We may not find it, but we'll try haha thanks again!

No problem and there are places to camp along the many rivers in Parsons but none close to Darkey. If you do make it to Parsons just stop at the local Sheetz and ask for Holly Meadows river bend estates. It is on the First Holly Meadows Rd not the second, so someone should be able to point you in the right direction. Thanks again, Tim.
