I absolutely love this game. Rose was my usual go-to party member with Kongal as the other. Her story is tragic, yet instrumental to the game. I would've loved to see a return of the world of Endiness and maybe see a new generation of Dragoons be born. Maybe take on Soa (the god who created the Divine Tree) in a bid for survival. As it stands, Rose's dragoon spirit is the only one to have never changed hosts, so another plot point would've been finding a worthy successor to her stone.

I certainly wasn't expecting a lore video of The Legend of Dragoon. There's a LOT you can do videos on. Like the plot holes I'm aware of. For example, why was Shana and her late twin Louvia on that royal ship out at sea to begin with in another city anyway? Why was Queen Theresa not present with her daughter on this voyage? Who and where was the king, their father? Regarding the latter, the only hint we possibly get is the skull of a victim onboard the Ghost Ship in a cutscene. FUN FACT @8:30 for ya: That is the voice of actor Tony Todd (Candyman) you hear in these scenes as Minister Noish and Librarian Ute. Also I never noticed during that cutscene of Zieg fight Melbu Frahma, that his Dragoon Spirit was vanishing and reverted by to his normal attire. Couldn't really tell with the original PS1 quality. And as for you theorizing Claire Feld possibly being slayed by a Melbu-possessed Zieg would is very interesting. Would be a VERY dark and tragic moment. I never even considered that possibility. I, like many others, just assumed she died from Rose's assault on Neet but that's certainly a sinister likelihood.

I believe Princess Louvia and Shana were separated at birth; twins in Mille Seseau were considered an ill omen, so those attending the royal birth separated them and sent Shana away. Queen Theresa wasn't even aware she'd given birth to twins. I can't remember WHERE I found this lore, so don't take it as 100% truth. If I find where I discovered it I'll post an edit.

It's possible the king was there, which was the skull on the ship with the crown. The Queen didn't know she had twins and as stated above, were a ill omen, also it's natural to separate royal twins, so they don't both try to get rid of the other for the throne. The death of princess louvia was also what inspired Queen Theresa to create the sacred sisters, a way of coping with the loss of her only child[that she knew of] Edit: should mention that, if the royal family and knights knew Louvia was the moon child, anyone with two brain cells would know the black monster was on their way, and the best bet, is too keep the queen away from her daughter, to avoid her being slain as well

It's a common tactic in JP storytelling to have the player/audience character not be the story's main character. Dart is the player character but the story itself revolves entirely around Rose. She is even the first character we see in-game. Without her, we have no story and we have no Dart.

@@gjtrue I think the reason why the God of Destruction didn't use the Winglies as it's host is because the Winglies were the ones who separated it's soul and flesh in the first place. Why would the God of Destruction not want a Gigantos or Minatos as its host? Also, I want to know if Rose has been east of Endiness if a Moon Child is born in one of the countries in the Far East. Or she's been slaughtering every Moon Children in just the Kingdom of Tiberoa, the Kingdom of Basil, the Empire of Sandora, the City State of Funri, the City State of Lohan, the Rouge Tribe within Endiness?

The soul(moon child) forces anyone around it to protect it until it can go back to its body, The moon that never sets. We now know it would take Melbu instead of Shana as its soul in the end to make the abomination.

Rose literally had killed every incarnation of the moon child 101 times. That’s a lot of baby killing including the people influenced by the moon child. 😰

I'd never really though about exactly how Claire died, it actually makes a lot more sense that Melbu posessed Zieg killed her and not Rose. You see, I have to imagine that Claire and Zieg came to know each other because of their respective talents in battle. So its most logical that Claire would have sought Zieg to team up with him to defeat the Black Monster. However, upon finding Zieg possessed by Melbu, he likely would have just killed Claire so he could go about his business. This is now my headcanon.

Unlike The Legacy of Kain and Medievil, both series that i played to death back in ps1 and 2. The Legend of the Dragoon is something that i regretfully never heard off. I liked the first video as well as this one and I'm looking forward to more, i will try out the game for myself of course when i found the time. I really like it's FF-esque atmosphere I'm getting. Plus, Rose is hot, she certainly dragoons my dragon hehe.

I remember there being a lot of hype surrounding this game prior to it's release. But when I got to playing it, I found the combat to be really underwhelming. I generally found the game to be pretty mid, but maybe that was just because no game can live up to its own hype.

It is mid if that, I’m not trying to throw shade. The story is decent, lore is cool. Combat is boring even with action buttons. You have a limiting item bag and can’t really use magic unless you’re a dragon. Really great concept but really behind in gameplay, considering how many great rpgs that are around in the PS1 era.

I think that dart made the right choice in letting rose go free when he found out the truth. he needed her and her expertise in retrieving shana from "emperor diaz." some people had criticized the game as being too forgiving but I think that in a life and death matter when your love ones became your enemies and your enemies became your friends you're bound to make hard choices.

HA. Yes. The one thing that frustrated me is the reason why I ended calling this game “The Legend of Dragoon: The Game Where Your Super Power is Completely Useless Against Bosses” Don't get me wrong. I loved playing that game. Having to press buttons to counter, to counter counters, to get higher damage and more crits. But every freaking Boss in this game had power against your Dragoon power. Either a power that lowers the Dragon power so you could kill it, an Impenetrable Magic Shield, a Sacred Blade made specifically to slay dragons. And since the Dragoons are basically powered by the dragons themselves (I could be wrong, I played that game last before 2002, so 22 years ago), whatever hurts the dragon can hurt a Dragoon.

There is a cheese for the Lloyd fight that requires you to use a Dragoon, a talismen acc. Equip that and transform, Lloyd will spend more time trying to One shot said character with the Dragon Buster and it not working. If you equip it to Dart you will know when you won the fight as Dart will revert.

I always wondered how did Rose track the Moon Child? Somewhere in the world a baby needs to die, that’s so vague and she only screwed up once.

From what I remember was that whenever the moon child was born the poeple around the village begin to worship the moon child as though the child was the messiah. All Rose need to do is fallow any information of people worshipping a child and she will eventully find the vilage that the moon child is living. As the reason why she failed once was simply because Shana new home and village they didn't know that she was the moon child and so they didn't worship her.

In most cases, the circumstance of immortality (like here) is that there's a lone immortal surrounded by mortals. There's this concept where the longer you're alive, the faster time seems to pass. (Vsauce has a great video on this) So as an immortal who has lived over a thousand years, regular people only living a hundred years at most would seem like dogs seem to us. Except that, rather than being a bit sad or maybe bittersweet only after their death (as we regular folk have other regular folk to rely upon) it would become a source of despair. You can have no true companions, as it is 100% guaranteed that anyone you might lean on, trust, or love will perish long before you. In the first thousand years this might not seem too bad, but after the 300th lover or friend dies, do you really think that's not going to have an effect on you? I lost my best friend nearly a decade ago and it still hurts, and that's just one person. After a thousand years you would have lost dozens of people. Accumulating that much grief and loss is practically guaranteed to make a person go insane. Which is why Rose's choker also stops her from feeling. You notice that she never speaks of anyone besides her old dragoon friends... even just the loss of those few was too much. It took her over ten thousand years to begin feeling again.
