Great video. What I was hoping you'd get to was how much Mango's head to head changes while in Loser's. For example, vs Zain in Winners he has a 1-10 record while in Loser's he's 8-5 (this isn't counting Summit Champions Leagues and Octagon). That means 8/9 of his wins have been in Loser's. That's why I think Mango is a Loser's Monster imo.

Fun video, I really liked the part where you brought it back to how we think about players rather than there actually being a definitive method to determine it. In the end, it's just a storyline, but it's certainly one of our community's most celebrated ones.

Brilliant video. The smash community is infinitely better with people like walt and the great ppl at pgstats. This video was something above and beyond expectation. The super creative and perfectly executed Pound 3 animation, incredible stuff. Even better story telling, loved the narrative, the ending was so fitting both narratively and visually. Great job. Hope everyone who put in work on this project, from the melee historians to walt, feel extremely proud.

realizing all three of the biggest recent losers runs culminated with beating zain game 10 rly shows that truly no one remembers second place cuz it takes such intense skill to be able to go game 5 with someone right after they beat you but we don’t really think about that much

Would love to see data on number of games played across losers runs too -- anecdotally it feels like Mang0 often deals with 5-game losers sets over and over again to get back to grand finals, and it's part of what makes his runs feel so satisfying

Gotta give respect to both Mang0 and the smash community but I don’t know if there’s anything more hype in all of sports or esports than Mang0 going ballistic, the way crowds will just explode after a normal win and the way he actually executes whenever he’s not hammered or sandbagging is just beautiful

Since I view Mew2King as, like, the quintessential winner's bracket player, it'd be interesting to examine his success in general placement depending on whether he came from winner's or loser's- I do think that we consider him to be a dominant winner's bracket player because he made a lot of upsets, played some of his most memorable sets and maintained his image as an intimidating opponent from winner's side... even if he may have finished 2nd or 3rd or whatever.
