The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning is FLAWED [Review]

My journey to experience the Spyro series in its entirety has been a roller coaster... a mostly terrible roller coaster. The Reignited Trilogy is within reach, but there's one more hurdle I have to clear before I can play it, and that is The Legend of Spyro. 12:15 I can tell you didn’t play this game very long. If you make a save game slot the game gives you a “continue” option in the menu to continue a play through… if you had a saved game and beat the game and hit CONTINUE on that save slot you get NEW GAME +. No lie( on GameCube at least) meaning you can beat the game and start a new play through but this time you get to keep all you breathes and breath upgrades.

As a kid this was disappointing, not because it's a reboot but because there's nothing else to do after beating the main story. No side missions, no mini games, and no extra collectables to collect. Even fully upgrading all breaths didn't artificially lengthen the game. I'm all up for Spyro trying something new. I mean look at Mario, he's been in a lot of genres. But like you said, it was poorly executed, rushed, and the budget went to big time actors. I know I said that I didn't mind this being a reboot/spin off, rather than it being part of the classic Spyro universe. But why did they have to rip off Avatar The Last Airbender???? Going back to my first paragraph, take Final Fantasy 7 Remake for example. Sure the game isn't perfect. A lot of people complain that it's 1/8th of the original game, and that the combat is repetitive. Ok I will agree on that. But guess what? The game does have side missions, collectables, mini games, a chapter select screen, and a hard mode. Something that Spyro a New Beginning lacks. Hell you can even skip the motorcycle levels, which you can't do with the flying levels. And yes, FF7 Remake is a reboot rather than a remake, but not a drastic reboot that tries to copy Avatar or make Cloud some generic "chosen one". Other than that, I'd much rather play Crash of the Titans over this.

To be fair, once you reviewed the rest of the LOS games, i don't see lotta reasons to review the Reignited Trilogy... for that, you could just make a quick thought video or anything like that

True, but I have a feeling I’ll want to play it as a palette cleanser. Plus I’ll eventually need gameplay footage for what I plan to fill the Spyro gap in my schedule with once the series is done 👀

ANB is just baby dragon captures experienced dragon warriors. The cut things are more interesting.

This guy probably thinks the OG Spyro trilogy is the best it’s boring storyless and pointless in comparison to any linear Spyro game.

I love the legend of spyro trilogy especially dawn of the dragon (xbox360 has a better franerate)
