Cynder roar/cry when you hit her or she breathes fire is one of my all time favorite video game sounds...its so uncanny. And now that I replay it. It sounds like she is internally screaming, to be let out of her curse.

After listening to the soundscape of the jump puzzle I've really realized that game sound design really isn't the same anymore.. The eerie sounds, the deep alternating channel whisper of "Spyro" and the extraterrestrial whining and whirling is so amazing! I used to be so creeped out as a kid with this level because of the sounds.. But now.. honestly.. I could sleep to that soundscape.. it's just so ominous and badass, but dreamy and calming..

Okay guys! This element that people call "Convexity". Sure it's never given a name in Canon, but the series' lead concept artist Jared Polin has clarified it's name and properties, and he calls it "Aether".

Aether is extremely powerful. According to Jared, Spyro’s aether breath, and cynder’s by the logic that she too has an Aether/nether breath, is comparable in power to that of an atom smasher. And just for the record, an atom smasher beam a molecule thick can pierce a human skull in a nanosecond!!! Just imagine the damage one the size of the Aether breath can do!!

This is a very nostalgic game for me, it was my first Spyro game and this boss battle specifically is one of my favorites in any game I’ve played to date. Cynder herself has always been one of my favorite characters, so I really loved the display of the final cutscene when she reverts and Spyro realizes she really is like him. Though I can’t lie, I REEEEEAAAAALLLY love her evil form the most! It’s just so well designed!

I'm actually glad it wasn't either of them. Not because I dislike them or anything rather they would've been too predictable. Since the LoS servers as a reboot of the original series it was great that they incorporated their own original ideas with Convexity/Aether being one of them. Malefor being the Dark Master and the previous Purple Dragon turned evil was very unexpected and made a good twist.

See that whale-squid like creature swimming around at 12:00 ? Yeah... one time the Spyro Heads decided to chase that instead and this hard-locked my game. (I mean, technically a soft-lock, but when the only way out is to restart and you have no control, I consider that a hard-lock.) Never got it to happen again, and I’ve never seen any records of it online.

Let's clear something up here. I looked it up and the convexity dimension is actually interesting. the convexity dimension is what connects the living world with the dark realms and even the spirit world it's actually endless and later were told purple dragons like Spyro can control time similar to the convexity dimension as it shows glampses of the future and the past the chroniclers books sees glampses of the future and past or in the chroniclers words purple dragons like Spyro and the convexity dimension controls time itself, basically their universes aither (however you spell it) and is the spiritual force of their universe with purple dragons like Spyro and malefor being connected to it. the dark realms is on the other side of the convexity dimension which is were malefor was. the convexity dimension also releases a black hole field which sucks everything into it, the chronicler also exists in a higher dimension were he writes down history of any new events, in counter of malefor who also exists in a higher dimension but his was something he made himself do to being so powerful the spiritual dimension could no longer hold him. so in short the convexity dimension is what connects all the other dimensions together the living world, the dark realm, and the spiritual world it even controls the flow of time itself it's a endless or infinite dimension. now I well also say alternate timelines and other dimensions clearly exist do to Spyro being told him and malefor were the only purple dragons which was written down in history but malefor a older purple dragon a dragon similar in age to the chronicler said otherwise they weren't the only ones, which implies malefor at some point saw a alternate timeline or dimsantion when in the dark realms. this next thing has nothing to do with the convexity dimension but more on cynder. her being a purple dragon was do to being basically marked by Spyro and malefor, malefors dark magic is what turned her evil but also how she got her other elements in dawn of the dragons as the chronicler confirmed malefor mastered the guarden dragons elements and much more starting with wind, cynders dawn of the dragons elements came from her connection with malefor, while after Spyro trapped himself cynder and sparx in the crystal in the second game that magic turned cynder into a purple dragon, the final battle with malefor was him basically trying to get cynder back on his side while trying to get Spyro to join his couse but after cynder chose to be with Spyro over malefor he basically went "you made your choice and now I'll destroy you with him".

earth blast (square) and ice shards (triangle) were the boss killers, a full mana bar with maxed ice shards is enough to take 3 bars off of the electric king, same goes for earth blast maxed

It's a shame Dawn of the Dragon went with a cheap GOW clone rather than continue the formula that was clearly working for them. The combat was so smooth in the first two with enemies that didn't feel spongy like they do in Dawn of the Dragon. I felt so nerfed in that game.

Malefor is Anakin, dumbass. Play Dawn of the Dragon. Notice how his lair is the high ground and when he loses the high ground, things go poorly for him. Spyro is also definitely Luke and Ignitus is Obi Wan.
