That's a new take on the Firebird story that I haven't heard before. Usually it involves a servant of the tsar or the tsar's youngest son undertaking the adventure to find it. Here we have the tsar's daughter undertaking the adventure herself and finding her own love.

I know, this was a new telling for a Vasalisa story for me too! I know "the brave" and "the wise" even that book "the beautiful" which felt like a weird amalgamation more than anything, but this is still good too 🙂

This is a different version from what I knew as a child. In the version I know there was a horse with gold mane, a talking wolf, and the bird actually got caught by the prince (not by a princess).
