Yes, Pike healed him in Craven Edge's case too. A lot of the other characters would be pissed of afraid. She just brushes it off as an accident, and helps him get rid of the sword.

I did love the callback to Season One when Pike was leaving and Grog was looking at her all hang-dog, saying, "But what if I need you?" and here is Pike, telling Grog, "But what if I need you?"

Yeah that was definitely Pike. Her hair turned white....because reasons. A thing that happened before they ever started streaming that I don't know if they're gonna go into in the show or not so I won't say. As far as Dr. Dranzel(Dr. Dra), in the Campaign, Scanlan used to travel with them.

@@StupendousMan. Can't blame them. It's Pike's Great Great Grandpa, but when she's healing Grog and has different colored hair, she just says "Thank you for saving my Grandpa", so unless you're a livestream Critter, it would absolutely read like it's Pike's older relative.

@@StupendousMan. CR is still a bit shaky about communicating information but they certainly got better in S2. Another big one was the Everlight confrontation. I don't blame people who misunderstood the last moment as a choice between having her faith or joining her friends.

Pike and Grog’s friendship goes back that far, it’s one of the most beautiful things of campaign one. Wilhand, Pike, and Grog have been together since that day, they became his family, and he their protector. As for Scanlan, without giving any spoilers, there is another tie to what he heard from the Sphinxes and his interactions in this episode.

I love that Grog is a redeemed character, and especially that it is Pike that redeemed him. Sarenrae, the diety that Everlight is based on, is the goddess of redemption. Her followers are tasked with always attempting to redeem evil first, and only resort to killing when redemption is impossible. The goodness of Grog is a testament to the value of that doctrine.

In the video game Pathfinder: Kingmaker, there is an NPC healer named Tristian who is a Sarenrae worshipper, and you get to see an entire campaign's worth of discussion surrounding his goddess. That game is also where I first encountered Amelia Tyler's voice, the narrator from Baldur's Gate 3.

That was young Pike, not her mother. Even in that episode she refers to Willhand as her grandfather. If you check the credits, there is no mention of Pike’s mom.

Right, but it's really Pike's Great Great Grandpa, so the show's own dialogue didn't do anyone any favors in making it clear. I don't think new critters would have any reason to suspect it's Pike with black hair.

@@BaronVonDex she calls him grandfather before the flashback establishing that she abbreviates it, if people didn't catch it it's ok, they tryed to make it clear but they didn't succed, it happens, not everything is perfect

@@BaronVonDex I think the writers assumed people would make the connection between the same voice actor and the fact Pike refers to him as grandpa earlier in that episode. But from what I've seen from other react channels, that isn't universal.

@@bskec2177 She only knew that Grog saved Wilhand and got badly hurt for it, but she didn't know the circumstances around the event. She didn't know about Grog being one of the marauders, betraying his own family to save Wilhand, or that his own uncle did this to him.

It was Pike who healed Grog, her hair used to be black but as others have mentioned it changed before the campaign even started. I also will mention that there is a hint at Kaylies backstory in the show if you pay attention. I hope that they fully explain it before the end of the seaon.

They can't leave Kaylie's backstory a mystery until season 3 next year and not expect it to get completely spoiled before then.

Pikes hair turned white after she was resurrected in the pre-stream home game, she started shooting Blindspot so she was away for alot, so in game she went travelling, and during the travels she got the scar

Fun fact: Grog's dad is named Stonejaw Strongjaw, because the player/VA forgot that he'd given Grog a surname when he was asked what his dad's name was. It was a running joke whenever Grog's family/past was brought up.

The mountain in episode 7 that they make their way towards resembled Gatshadow from the comics. In the home game before streaming, Pike & Percy had not yet made their appearance. Grog had simply vanished after the first mission and the party was tasked with rescuing him. Won't spoil the story but Pike made her appearance in Westrun to rescue him from a ritual and Percy was found by the twins in a dungeon when they hunted for an ingredient to cure Grog of the damage done to him by that ritual That was Pike, not her mom. Pike's hair went white later

I don't remember if it was in the show or in the campaign (I think it was post Season 2 in the campaign), but there is a scene where the group runs into a bunch of gnomes. Grog's, or I should say Travis' reaction is to squee out "eee! GNOMES!" and jump around like a 5-year old surrounded by puppies. It is a small but enlightening event that gives nice insight into Grog.

This is the first episode of...anything, actually, that's made me break down weeping in a long time. Pike and Grog's relationship - more a life partnership than a friendship, honestly - was one of the best parts of Campaign 1, and the love and reverence they gave it here was just incredible. Henry Winkler as Wilhand is probably my favorite guest casting in the entire show so far; everything he says is as sincere as it would be coming from your own grandfather.

Your thoughts about Kevdak`s fear, his rule and his understanding of power are so good, I`ve spent almost half an hour just replaying and listening to it. And I actually feel sorry for his son. Grog has Pike, Wilhand and Vox Machina in his life. Zanror has nothing but a belief that his father is wrong and he should do something about it. No one supports him, *twice*, both during the initial conversation and at the "trial" (okay, the second time Grog intervened, but he came after Zanror was beaten and tossed on the ground). I think they can make an ally. Scanlan`s reputation is... not good, but he is good and he tries. Kaylie is an amazing girl, I want to see more of her, and how viсious she is! And I like the moment when the group escapes from the city, Dr. Dranzel and Kaylie immediately stop, seeing a goliath (Grog), but Scanlan is not used to be wary of them and runs right into him. Really curious how this will play out. And you`ve mentioned Ripley riding the dragon? i never thought how _cool_ it is, indeed.

That's so cool that Grog has been friends with the Trickfoots for 2 generations. And I guess they don't tell the story of them meeting, if Pike didn't know. Or maybe they tell a made up version of the story.
