in the early 90's , due to family issues, we had to move, and Super Nintendo was quickly not an option. Christmas 92, after I had opened my gifts, Mom said wait, theres one more, a big box??? wait, whats this? I went crazy!!! I seriously couldnt believe it. SNES that came with Mario, soon I borrowed Zelda from my best friend, and I was off to the races. This game is one of my most cherished childhood video game memories. This game is one of the best SNES games of all time, period. I can go on and on.

Wasn't that an awesome time? I too got the SNES later than most of my friends....but I definitely enjoyed the heck out of it when I did! Definitely one of the best SNES games.

Beautiful, I can imagine the sheer magic of playing this in 92 (I first played in 2012). The beauty of playing on your own, no internet. And the standards video games had back then. Amazing

I'm consistently amazed how many games I have played in the past 35 years, and yet still 4 of the best SNES games in history have never even left my top 10. These are Super Metroid, Final Fantasy 3(6), Chrono Trigger, and the legendary Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Such a great console, and such great memories on it.

Agreed! Those are all incredible classics. The SNES truly was one of the best systems ever, if not the best.

As a child I couldnt understand what was going on. As my first game ever, as a 7 to 10 year old I didn't know wtf I was doing 😂. But then when I beat that first dungeon to realize that I was rewarded with an epic boss fight, I knew I was hooked. As a child I always stopped playing when I got to Hyrule castle, but when I opened that hole with the grass at the beginning, I already knew this game had some things I needed to try out once after so many hours of playing as thurd grader I finally beat all three dungeons. I thought I beat the game, and then ..... THE DARK WORLD. As a child I knew that the adventure literally had just begun when I saw 7 main areas to get to. One of if not the greatest gaming experience I ever had. One that would carry on to me being a gamer up to this day. This game is a masterpiece and still holds up to many triple a games today in terms of enjoyment. The legend of Zelda a link to the last one of the greatest games of all time. A game that shaped future generations.

This was my fav Zelda growing up. Bit I also had this one when I was a kid before I had “OCARINA OF TIME” so thats prolly why. This is really a great game. Was way better than the 2 on the NES. Although I really loved those as well. I’m a lil older so I grew up wjtt all this stuff as a kid. I woukdnt change it either. Growing up with the NES, SNES, and 64 was completely awesome. Another great video. Keep up the great work dude

Nice review, dude! I absolutely love this game, one of my favorite of all time! I rented a SNES upon release with Final Fight and Super Mario World in the fall of 1991. However, I didn't get one until Christmas 1992, and still didn't pick up A Link To The Past until later, although I rented it until I acquired it! I remember the first time I saw it was at one of my dad's friend's house. His son owned it, and I remember watching him play the Turtle Rock Palace, as well as showing me Kid Chameleon for the Sega Genesis, another of my favorites. A Link To The Past is still one of my go-tos for a relatively quick, straightforward playthrough, and I still have vivid memories of my first 0 death/continue run! It was my freshman year of high school, the fall of 1997, and I sprained my ankle in gym class. I went home to nurse the injury, and my mom was making stir fry for dinner, one of my favorite meals, especially with La Choy red sweet & sour sauce. Since I had the entire day/evening, I popped in a VHS tape to record the entire playthrough, and finally did it around 7pm that night. I wish I still had that VHS, but I have also no-death run the game several times since then, and always love the game. Still pop tracks from the soundtrack on my playlists from time to time, as well. Superb game!

Truly a legendary game. My only real complaint is that the game is too linear. After so many years and replays, I don't really get much joy in playing it anymore.

The dark world is not that linear And a well structured linear game is league better than an empty open world

Another criticism of the game is the fact that the map shows you every dungeon’s location. I still explored every nook & cranny when I first played, but that kind of takes the fun out of the discovery of a new dungeon. I remember playing the 2nd Quest in the original LoZ for the first time and getting so excited when I would stumble upon a new dungeon. Having them given to you just isn’t fun.
@krisfinchart29554 ай бұрын
I was playing this on Switch and I don’t think it’s very fun at all. I beat the first dungeon in the dark world so I feel I gave the game a real chance before I stopped playing. I actually think the games is bad due to it’s hit box and controls. I honestly want to enjoy this game before echos comes out because they look like they share a map. I was born in 1982 and I live Super Nintendo and Zelda games so I thought this would be perfect. I’ve really like all the 3d Zelda’s and I really liked Minish Cap and Links Awakening. Did I stop playing to early or is this game just not for me? Also, I’m playing the game boy color version on switch if that makes a difference?

Its a really good game but its not a master piece as most of people think. The third boss (Hera tower) has an horrible design. To continue the story sometimes seems imposible due there are no hints. The game should put some hints to kind of know what to do. Its not fun exploring over and over again just to realize you had to do a specific action in a specific place, thing no NPC tells you to do It is still a 9/10
