What makes Shining Force great is that the characters vary wildly in usage and effectiveness without being overly complicated! And I love its little secrets!!

I think the battle system in this one is a lot of fun, but, it takes some getting used to. My bigger concern that even with Mark Hamill, the voice acting is horrible.

This doesn’t feel like an exciting exploration or analysis. It’s more like you’re just reading boring wiki details. And treasure of the rudras has the best OST between those three. Isn’t even close.

I actually had this game back in the day. Played it for hours and loved it. I own a switch and just recently bought the Sega bundle pack of games that has these on them. I can’t wait to dive into it and relive my youth a bit. Great review!

BOF2, 3, 4 are favorites (3 being the best)! I would be content even with just a remaster at least. Truly wish Capcom would just do us fans that courtesy.

I really love the graphics outside of battle (I'm a big pre-rendered backgrounds fan - that's often a selling point for me), but the graphics during battles doesn't appeal to me (I also think it's too bland and cartoonish), I think it would have been better if they went with another artstyle in battles, I also dislike the font of the damage numbers.

Thank GOD The Devs finally did something that brought be back to D4 man.. Ive missed this game, First two weeks were AMAZOING fun!! The new gear changes are fun, I love the pace. I was a fan of D3 so Im a fan of the pacing in game now.. Being able to take a toon to 100 in about a day is good for me. Much better players than me can do it sub 6hours.. Which is pretty incredible but a day of blasting for me is about as sweaty as ill ever be, but again.. THE PACE IS AWESOME! I'm making a new barb.. This will be thenext thing I try, Cant wait.

This game should be remade and brought out for us to play today. I missed this game in the 1990s because I didn't have a Saturn, i had a Playstation instead. Thoae days were the golden age of gaming especially jrpgs.

Best one for me was Grandia 1, second up being Grandia 2. Just deciding to go on a reckless adventure and being ignorant (Justin) reflected so much with my childhood when I had to become an adult and explore and learn things. I've traveled so many countries, learned so much since then and even to this day just listening to the music brings back the nostalgia of wanting to just keep going. Good vid btw ^^

I remember my 3rd play through the most. Having Tidus nearly mastering the sphere grid and getting all aeons and legendary weapons fully powered. Critical hits by Tidus made the end run a joke. Good times.

This game always brings me back every few years. Something about the art style and soundtrack just never gets old for me. The rom hacks are also insane if you can get them to work. Like Shining Force Alternate, which turns the entire game on its head. It's like a whole new game but with the core DNA of Shining Force 1. Definitely give it a look if you have not already. (You will need to patch an original version of Shining force with the Alternate mod using lunar IPS)

When the captain at the start of Casstis story called her by her name I thought it was going to be a name he gave her because it’s very similar to castaway. Needless to say my assumption was proven wrong 3 seconds later.

Well done! Interesting! I've played them all except for 7 and 9, so guess i have two great games left :) I would never play FFXV sinice action RPG is not my genre, but still there are these ATB systems in most of the games. I like FFX cause of the pure turned based system, but the best "ATB" system is easily FFXIII. I really liked that game, though I am alone :)

Why not tell the truth? Dont understand why you dont mention anything in the video about boss fighting. With this build, you can sweep through tier 70 pit. But when you get to the boss, even from lvl 55 pit. Certian bosses, you won't be able to defeat them. If you do, it will take 5 to 8 mins. You show a lvl 100 boss 😆 go to pit 61 with this build and show us that. I have the build now on a barb. Build is worthless if you can't boss with it.

@@lukakali5910 true i was more talkin on the speed farming side of things (waves of mobs and bosses that spawn mobs etc) but yeah can defs always be something better for bosses, like the Conceited Aspect (25% dmg bonus when using barrier/iron skin) seems handy so far for some xtra dmg and synergizes nicely with Aspect of the Iron Warrior and aspect of elements which iirc whirlwind can snapshot when activated on the physical cycle but not 100% sure if DD gets snapshotted with the whirlwind I've been doin some experimenting with that

I hope we get a remake collection of the first five to polish the archaic design conventions they baked in. It'd be so nice to experience these games without the grindy and more "just buy the strategy guide lmao" esc elements. It'd be especially cool to see dragon quarter's roughlite system fully realized.
