Blessed! This is one of the best displays and lessons on what is a Moko Jumbie. I continue to preserve, convey and teach the arts and culture of the Moko Jumbies in New York City. I too was blessed to be a pupil of the Great Alvin Ali Paul and born and raised on St.Croix and a pleasure to be a Moko Jumbie for 30 years. Thank You for this video!

A beautifully -told story with a profound description of the history, art, and significance of the community traditions of the US Virgin Islands. Thank you for telling this story in a professionally-produced video and thank you for keeping the traditions alive; especially, with the emphasis towards educating and inspiring the youth of the Virgin Islands to stay involved with and support their communities.

Inspirational! I love how in the beginning you explain how with your brothers you decided to learn together on your own how to continue this tradition. A tradition that crosses seas in mind and soul.

The first historical account of moko jumbie is in 1791 when an English man visited st Vincent and saw it for the first time .. and yet today st Vincent doesn’t have a moko jumbie culture.. just a lil historical facts for those who care to know
