I was there. He rocked the whole house. We were all Casiopea fans, but never expected things like that. That made us crazy. All of us gone nuts that day.

It's an 8 string bass made by Tune. You can find them online, they have a website, but the basses themselves are very difficult to find in the USA. The 8 strings are paired, to give a full, almost chorus-like effect, like a 12 string guitar. Tune is a great japanese bass company. If you get a chance to play one you should. They use great woods, have fantastic electronics, and are really playabel, especially if you like a fast, skinny funk neck. They make great basses.

i have a whammy bar.. les claypool has a whammy bar, mark king,just to name a few, all bassists that do what ever they want to do. how many people dont even know the difference between a bass and guitar, to lead the band with a bass, just proves the skill and passion to do something different..

The opening 15 odd seconds he uses harmonics in a very Jaco esque way, in my opinion. Not that harmonics are only Jaco, but I seriously heard Haco

i'm 22 and i'm statin what i like. if you have a problem wit that, too bad. he's def. more of a lead guitarist, what bassist has a whammy bar?? i'm not denyin his skill, but i'd rather see him playin n backin up someone else. it's harder to keep rhythm, speed it up, slow it down, add fills, etc. all to other people than it is to just sittin in a studio imitatin an entire band.

Hey Claus, can you do what this guy is doing? No? If you can't say something nice then shut the hell up. This is an amazing performance with AWESOME audience response and participation. When you can get an audience that size, that whipped up, then you can be a legitimate critic

@seongjinlim34573 жыл бұрын
Yes. That is a 8-string bass guitar that was made by TUNE.And It may be his unexpected and stupendous ability to practice and pro-workmanship. Originally he liked the rock music, so it made the atmosphere enthusiasm at the stage in 2001.

nice vid, i dug it more when he actually played lines instead of muting his percussive hits. but call me an old school bassist, im not crazy about too many effects. he's a great showman and player, but hes deep into that lead guitarist trip prancin on the stage like a proud peacock.

@robyoung017 жыл бұрын
it's cool to expand your horizons, cuz every musician will go thru that stage in their lives, but bassists shouldn't forget the bassics of jammin. bass n drums are the rhythm section while whomever else adds it wit flair. i'm not sayin bassists should know their place and not experiment, but bassists should DEF. not forget to be the core of the band. w/o bass or drums, there's not much of a band

it's cool to be proud of your skills, but a bassist's job is to provide the groove. you're SUPPOSED to stay in the background. bassists are unsung heroes. if you crave the attention pick up an electric guitar wit a shorter neck.
