I love the full circle beauty of your comment.❤💛💚🖤 That song was written by Jamaican-American Boris Gardiner who was born and bred in Kingston. He's worked with other powerhouses. Giving thanks that he turned 80 on 13th January of this year. 🇯🇲❤. Love and respect from a continental African sista.

@@loveheals6184 Much appreciation for giving more information on this song I love so much. You know I always wonder if the American melinated people reclaimed the N word from Big Youth track because I think he was of the first to use the N word in a song sis. @@MsWildberry1 Big Youth practically snatched copyright of that Boris Gardner song (Every Nigger Is A Star) and gave it his signature; more like Jimi Hendrix making All Along The Watchtower a much bigger hit than the Bob Dylan original.

@@tafimutekwe2855 I thought Big Youth wrote ii. I just listened to Boris's version, it's a bit lame. Easy to hear how Big Youth snatched it. Much thanks for the info. ❤️💛💚🖤

And TOASTER!!!! I was there when he released Movie Man and first album, Screaming target around 1973. Sound System back then was how he had to travel all over jamaica to sell himself until he fall off his motorcycle. Man was wild back then! Still talented and wild today! He should be paid his dues. One of Jamaica’s iconic figures from a time when Rastas did not get any respect, and record label owners did not pay artist right… Good video!

Big Youth practically ruled the roost in the mid 70's in Jamaica that even the great Bob Marley cited him as one of his favorite artist. UB40 also listed "Jah (Big) Youth " as one of their greatest early influences.
