Bassic 2000 I would prefer the level at the end of Revenge of the Sith where you work together as Ani and Obi on Mustafar but at the end, duel each other.

So there used to be a cinema in my town that had this arcade machine in it before it was closed down and relocated. To this day, my mom is the only person I've seen start from Yavin and make it to Endor on just one quarter. She almost beat the whole thing, but the battle against Vader in the end got her.

I don’t think this is a case of the game being particularly amazing, but the actual experience of the arcade cabinet was amazing. The whole joystick and little dome thing around you would vibrate as you hit something or got hit and the bass would come out in full force. It was so fucking cool.

We used to have this machine at the movie theater where I worked... I played it so much that I could clock out for lunch, pop 4 quarters in the machine, play it all the way through (without continues because I'm psycho and basically committed the entire game to memory), then clock back in for work with 2 minutes left to spare on my break. The best part of this was that whenever the mall security guards would see kids dicking around on the game they'd always go talk to the kids, then point at me (behind the counter prepping popcorns and shit) and then the kids would look at me in awe. Anyway, my entire life has been downhill since then, but it was awesome while it lasted.

Tony Pope (C-3P0 in this game) was the voice of Wreck-Gar in season 3 of The Transformers (a voice Eric Idle performed in the movie). Terry McGovern (Admiral Akbar in this game) is most famous for playing Launchpad McQuack in Ducktales. (The original version; he said he was never even offered the role in the reboot and was disappointed.) Although he didn't play Ackbar in the movies, he did perform voices for Stormtroopers in the original movie. He also did voices in Lucas's THX-1138 and ad libbed the line "I think I ran over a Wookie!", which was then used as the name of Chewbacca's species.

I saw this machine when it was brand new at Disneyland Paris when I was a kid. We were there for a weekend and I made my dad take me back every day. I beat Vader at the end and a crowd of people clapped and it was the proudest moment of 9-year-old me's life and tbh... Still is. And I still feel a genuine sense of guilt that I lost to Boba Fett in that run as well as had to put an extra buck in.

Seeing the Darth Vader duel in Aladdin's Castle for the first time was mind blowing to my teenage mind. Of course the graphics didn't look like that to us in the 90's they looked like what Vader Immortal looks like now to teenagers probably. It's crazy how our memories will change the way the graphics looked in our heads. Yes I know that CRTs did their own form of AA and that upscaling to HD makes them look worse but the point still stands.

I remember the "sit down" version of this game so well - and also only playing it a handful of times because I was too poor to afford the continues, because it was like $1 to play (and probably 3/5 times continuing on someone else's game, because that seemed like the only way to really enjoy further in the plot 😂). Cheers, guys - also, mad props for playing on a touch pad! Thought you had at least a cheap USB joy con (I haven't had one for years, but might buy one and download this just for some nostalgia). Great stuff!

Pretty sure I played this as a kid, albeit on ferry crossing the Irish Sea 20 years ago, so lots of swaying. Not the best environment to play it in as there was a lot of seasickness around, but I gave it my best!

Have you guys ever played the Super Star Wars games on the Super Nintendo? Legit, some of the hardest video games I have ever played. The escape the Death Star mission in Super Return of the Jedi is so hard to distinguish what is a wall, and what is an opening, that it took me ages to finish it. I still don't know how I beat that game, I played it again a few years ago and couldn't get past the second stage, haha.
