Hey, it was me who made the iceberg, and it's really cool to see it getting adapted into a lenghty and detailed video like this! Allow me to clarify and expand on some points: 7:29 - Yep, Jedi Friend was a typo, I meant to write everyone's favorite Rebel Friend. There was a slightly updated reupload of the iceberg where that was fixed, but I presume you must have gotten the older version instead? 16:08 - The claim that it's only possible to reach 99% completion on LSWII for the GameBoy Advance actually appears to be reasonably substantiated, I'm pretty sure it's not the result of cheating since multiple folks over at LSWII: Watto's Junkyard have also reported the same thing happening in their playthroughs. My guess is that it would take some GBA hacking expertise to figure out exactly what flags aren't being met for the game to reach 100%, which is probably an interesting investigation in its own right. 17:32 - Yes, that was the one Scout trooper face the iceberg meant to highlight, it's just kind of a funky detail that the visors are printed on it. The other one you pictured seems to be a regular model from 2010 and beyond. 18:40 - Actually, nope: it's based on the Gian-211 patrol speeder from The Force Awakens, which from what I have read shows up briefly in the Resistance base on D'Qar (it's almost impossible to actually spot it on film, but the nerds on Wookiepiedia say it's there!). There was also a Micromachines version released somewhere around 2016. 20:32 - You should have probably mentioned that what makes the yellowfigs in the LSW1 beta so interesting is the fact that it was also around that time (2003-2004, presumably?) when Lego switched over to portraying figures in Star Wars sets with screen-accurate skin tones, which suggests the team must have probably worked with the old standard for minifigure designs for some time during the development of the game. 25:53 - Walp, AT-ST was also a typo, and unlike Jedi Friend, I've never noticed it until now. Thanks for correcting me! 29:55 - Nope, that's not it: the 1999 Landspeeder does not show up physically as a drivable vehicle, but *it is* there in the level, and I will let you have the adventure of figuring out where by yourself (as a hint, it shows up early on ;) ) 32:44 - It's probably worth mentioning that there is also a new version of the Skyhopper Pilot in the 2020 Skyhopper vs Bantha Microfighters set - just a neat little curiosity that adds more to the mystery! 33:03 - Also, I had no idea about the Visual Dictionary suggesting it might be Luke, that is actually pretty neat. 33:52 - Important correction: the 7190 Falcon was released a year later in 2000, so that picture in particular was even more preliminar than you would expect. Plus, you should have probably pointed out how different the prototype is from the final set? It's not just the box art that changed, the build itself is an almost entirely different thing, including a very weird specialized cockpit piece that I cannot discern as having been released in any retail Lego set. 35:11 - Actually, that's not it: what the iceberg refers to is how some early 1999 promotional images (most noticeably, the box art for 7101 Lightsaber Duel) had a somewhat different lightsaber hilt piece, with a couple more rings at the top and with the indentations on the bottom being flatted out deeper into the mold. 36:54 - The hairpiece mentioned on the iceberg can be seen in the preliminary image you showed early on, the charred Anakin figure is meant to stay on the raised operation table behind Vader in that set and if you look closely you might notice a bog-standard medium brown hairpiece attached to it. Maybe this was just something they did as an experiment for those early test pictures, but nonetheless, it's interesting to point out how that diverges from the final retail version of that set. 37:23 - Nope, it's not a stop motion I made as a kid (not that I didn't record a lot of those with Transformers though!), I just added it to the iceberg because it was an endearingly simple video that got a little bit of a random algorithm boost in KZbin last year and ended up being posted on the Facebook group (then) known as Lego Star Wars II: Electric Boogaloo, where we meme'd around with it for a while. The lo-fi late 2000s Windows Movie Maker vibe does have its nostalgic appeal too! 38:33 - The odd thing about the 2008 Snowspeeder is that it was never officially released but the official instructions for it still showed up on Lego's website with a complete packaging art (presumably, it would have been a polybag), which is something that doesn't tend to happen with unreleased sets. The built models you pictured were probably made by instead ordering the parts on a service like BrickLink, hence why there are some loose physical copies of it but none with the actual bag or the original printed instructions. 40:01 - The flesh pouches are a joke on how the 2001 minifig version of Watto seems to have the pockets of his vest sculpted into his skin, as a byproduct of the head mold being one large unpainted piece like how Chewbacca and the Gamorrean Guards were. Not much to it other than just being kind of a creepy and unsettling thing if you overthink about it (although the EVA Pod is also a really cool easter egg in its own right!). 40:26 - It's an inside joke that sprung from the recent history of the LEGO Star Wars II: Watto's Junkyard Facebook group, but being that you are uninitiated, I'm afraid the W A T T can only be revealed to you once [REDACTED INFORMATION : CEASE YOUR INVESTIGATIONS] 41:42 - The Dream™ is actually a fascinating psychological phenomena mostly exhibited in the Bionicle community, where a surprising amount of people have reported a common dream of walking into the toy aisle of a store and finding all their favorite childhood sets for sale. My postulation is that the same can also happen, even if more infrequently, with LEGO Star Wars, as the earlier years of the theme seem to invoke a similar level of nostalgic attachment that appears adjacent to the phenomena. It's a really intriguing subject and probably one worthy of an entire video dissertation in its own right, there seems to be something worth saying both politically and philosophically about what is, in essence, the process of acquiring a commodity, having such a strong impact on someone's personal identity. Otherwise, awesome video in general, thank you so much for sharing and researching my iceberg! If you decide to make a follow-up based on what you missed then I will be glad to help with any doubts you might have :)

I’ve been yearning to ask my whole life since I first had the 1999 Lightsaber duel and Luke landspeeder set, without really knowing who to ask or who participated in the concept, perhaps yo may enlighten me: why were the early lightsabers designed in a way that the tip of the hilt is inverted, incidentally looking like Ben Kenobi’s hilt, then redesigned to look like the lightsaber hilt we know as of today?

"The Dream" is definitely a reference to the Bionicle fandom. Everyone in it, myself included, has had a recurring dream of finding old sets for sale somewhere. Variations include getting lucky and finding a few on a store shelf, stumbling on an "unused" portion of a store stacked with old sets, finding some left over in a warehouse, at a yardsale, etc. I've got a pretty complete G1 collection lining my walls and I still get The Dream regularly, which is kind of crazy. I was the one who suggested Watto flesh pouches be added. Essentially, it refers to the original Watto minifigure from the Episode 1 line and his design. Watto's minifigure is almost entirely blue (which is the primary color of his skin), and his head mold includes the presence of his waist pouches that were apart of his outfit. The fact that they are apart of that mold and colored the same implies that they are apart of his body. Flesh pouches.

While there might've been some inspiration with the Technic figures toward Bionicle, the Super Battle Droid _can't_ be one of them, because it was released in 2002 to coincide with the character's first appearance in Attack of the Clones. BIONICLE had started a year earlier in 2001, and the Super Battle Droid build itself uses BIONICLE parts. The CCBS B2 and AT-RT are one of the tragic tales of the end of Constraction. Constraction was the title given to a genre of sets themed around building action figures, which started with Slizers in the late 90s but really got going with BIONICLE in 2001. Despite drawing the ire of many an AFOL, BIONICLE basically saved Lego as a company. At the time they were coming through a fairly infamous dark age and were almost in the pan, but the first few years of Bionicle gave them a massive boom. Allegedly, Bionicle made up _40%_ of Lego's total profits in 2003. Of course, it didn't last, and every Bionicle set year after that gradually decreased in success, and with sales plateauing, lore becoming increasingly hard to follow, and a run of crappy molds that made for fragile pieces, the line was cancelled in 2010. CCBS was introduced the following year in the successor line, Hero Factory, and that was decent, before it too bowed out in 2014, replaced by a Bionicle reboot in 2015. The Saga of Bionicle G2 is fairly infamous in Lego circles. Despite some very good sets, the lack of story, absence of any marketing, Lego needing to fund the Ninjago reboot at the same time, and a bunch of other issues meant that the sets just... never sold well enough, and it was cancelled in mid 2016, unable to even make the usual 2.5-3 year cycle most regular Lego themes get. One of the biggest factors in this was the Star Wars Constraction sets. Lego had dabbled with licensed Constraction toys before, with a wave of Ben 10: Alien Force figures released between the end of Bionicle G1 and the start of Hero Factory, and another wave of Superhero sets called "Ultrabuilds", three from Marvel and three from DC that came out... later? Initially, Lego wanted to focus on Droid and Trooper characters, but were mandated by Disney to make the human leads from the movies, which resulted in many an exposed human face that just doesn't look right. Luke from the first wave and Finn from the second are both fairly infamous for being incredibly uncanny, and none of the humans ever looked quite right. Obi-Wan Kenobi from wave 1 was just okay, because his headsculpt was more akin to his appearance in The Clone Wars. These sets are actually not too bad, if you stick to the troopers, droids, and other masked characters. General Grievous is regarded by a lot of people to be one of the better CCBS sets ever made. Unfortunately, the presence of the easily-marketable Star Wars characters basically doomed Bionicle. No small child in the middle of the late-2010s Star Wars revival was gonna choose a Bionicle set over a Star Wars character, and sure enough Bionicle crumbled. However, the success of Star Wars CCBS was ultimately short-lived. These sets were _expensive._ Late-era CCBS sets were infamously overpriced, largely due to the fanservice-motivated return of Technic-based gear functions that had been present in early constraction but were removed from Bionicle G1 come 2006. On top of that, Lego's licensed products carry an extra markup because they're... licensed. Disney takes a cut for every Star Wars toy sold, so the Star Wars sets are more expensive. In addition, the uncanniness of the human faces, the price, and the lack of interaction with vehicles meant they weren't able to compete with Hasbro's Black Series or even Lego's own regular minifig sets. So after outcompeting Bionicle, the Star Wars CCBS sets were themselves outcompeted, and the final two, the AT-RT and the B2 Super Battle Droid, were cancelled, with only prototype renders of boxart ever seen. They also seem to have taken CCBS down with them, as the bones and shells that made up the system have gradually disappeared from other sets since.

22:38 My theory as to why it was never made, is because by the time LEGO Star Wars began, LEGO was about to phase out chrome silver. Sure it was still used in lightsabers, a few ships and the UCS Naboo Starfighter, but it would be too expensive to make an entire playable starship using that chrome silver color, and it would be too inaccurate to just convert it to light grey. Especially is they made it scaled so minifigures could play inside. Nowadays the closest they could do is use Metallic Silver (like modern lightsabers), but again, a tall order for an entire ship based in a color LEGO doesn't produce to that amount per set. Also, the old chrome silver had the chance of wiping off after long periods of play, since it was literally a coating over a clear or otherwise colored piece, like wrapping a LEGO brick in aluminum foil.

Little story time about Lego Star Wars; So, years back my older cousin gave me a bunch of Legos, as he had "grown out" of them and I was like 5 at the time. I remember there where some really cool figures, with a bunch being Star Wars. I was a big Star Wars fan at the time. Years went by, and I eventually got this book showing the rarest Lego figures and how much they're worth. I look at a page, seeing Boba Fett. I knew I had something similar, so I rush and scramble through my Lego pieces. I eventually found every piece, Although I think I just found a regular all-black head. I look at it closer, and sure enough, it has both leg printing and arm printing, and it was indeed the Cloud City Boba. But I realized something. There was a large scratch on the arm, because as a stupid little kid I would use my teeth to separate parts. I knew this would decrease the value a lot, by about ~100-200 dollars. I eventually made a little pillar for him to stand on, and I have him on a desk. It was really cool to find, but I can't really sell it, even if I wanted to, because of the damage.

Regarding AT-RT, it's not a typo. AT-ST - All-Terrain Scout Transport. Large, somewhat slow and pretty powerful walker. AT-RT - All-Terran Reconnaissance Transport, small and very fast one-seated walker, where pilot is very exposed. It was truly a recon transport and in battle it relied heavily on superior speed and maneuverability, allowing somewhat weak installed cannons to hit weak parts of enemy vehicles and overpower greater technical forces. You can see AT-RTs being used in Revenge of the Sith on Kashyyyk, there was a good scene with them where they were searching for Yoda after order 66. 20:38 to be fair, this is the earliest use of the part (1999) in two sets featuring Anakin's Podracer. However, it does appear in 50 other sets for the next 13 years. LEGO has been known to make certain elements for licensed themes that would be integrated into other sets later on, including prints such as tiles or slopes with computers on them. It's possible it was made in that mindset to at first be used in the podracer.

To answer the question "I don't know why this is so low," that's the point. Icebergs are meant to confuse you and placing simpler/less obscure details lower on the Iceberg makes it all feel more surreal in a way. After all, if the George Lucas minifig is real and easily provable, who's to say an extinct race of classic spacemen isn't? Another thing I have to say is that Icebergs usually only make sense if you're a part of the fandom for which they were made, and it kind of showed in your video that you don't know a ton about Lego Star Wars. You did a good job of researching most of these, but there's some fundamental (if nitpicky) details that you missed on account of not "in it" so to speak.

"It's Hard to Be A Stormtrooper.AVI" is referring to the winner of the Lego Star Wars Movie Maker contest from back in 2007. The actual title was "An Average Death Star Day". It was super hilarious and was very well made. It's about a stormtrooper on the Death Star getting into a bunch of trouble with Vader, Boba Fett, and eventually Luke gets his head cut off and thrown through a basketball hoop while saying "at least I have insurance!". I haven't seen the video in an extremely long time.

40:48 What this is actually going on about is referring to how the composition of the backgrounds makes them seem eerily empty; It evokes the sense that you are in a space that is normally filled with activity but is now merely completely devoid of life. It's a liminal space because it's in a period of transitioning between one activity to the next. This is perfectly normal; You're not supposed to see the backgrounds of these boxes because, well, the focus is on the set being placed in front of it. The youtube channel Solar Sands has a couple videos on this topic that I highly recommend you go check out: He does a far better job explaining it and exploring the topic than I could.

Actually, the Freemaker Adventures is canon, although indirectly. A book was released called Droidography, which is a canon book to the series. In the book, we follow Roger (a character from Freemaker Adventures and All Stars), and he recaps his life story, including the events of Season 1 of the Freemaker Adventures. This isn't a Lego Book either, this is straight up just a book about a Battle Droid. (Source: starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Droidography) On top of that, in Squadrons, Hera from Rebels appears in the same outfit she first wore in The Freemaker Adventures. It's clear to me that the shows and Holiday Special are probably considered canon, but only loosely. So if Star Wars wants to Retcon something from them, they can without people making a huge fuss about it. The way I see Star Wars Canon is kinda like a tier list, where certain things take priority over others. The order is: The Films > Live Action T.V. Shows > Animated Shows > Video Games > Comics > Books > Lego Specials/Shows

While I’m not part of the lego Star Wars community as much as others, I do know a little bit. One thing I was surprised about was that while the iceberg included the chrome Vader and the gold 3PO, it didn’t mention the third installment of the trio: the silver stormtrooper. While I am vague about the whole ordeal as I’m going of the memory in my head, I believe the visual dictionary said that it was a celebration of a certain amount of years of Star Wars set in the 2000s (I’m guessing 2007 as it would be the 35 anniversary and the Star Wars sets popularity would be high enough then) and possibly celebrating May the 4th Be With You. During this event, 10,000 (probably less) were distributed in certain lego Star Wars sets all over the world, but all exclusively at Toys R Us stores. Again, probably way more info about it elsewhere, but thought it was weird how it wasn’t talked about. Maybe it’s too widely known or way too obscure. Either way hope this does something for someone.
