Little correction about Bionicle: the masks didn't give the Toa their elemental powers. They had elemental powers on their own, and the masks usually gave them specific additional superpowers, like invisibility or telepathy. I think that's different in Gen 2, however

Well, correction correction: they actually needed their masks to use their powers as they didn't work without some sort of mask on their face. So, in a way, it's...kind of true? That being said, it is correct that it's not the masks themselves that give them their elemental power.

@@Makaneek5060 There's official magazine comics proving the connection between the themes.
@YesWasHere_2 жыл бұрын
@@Makaneek5060 That's because the guy in the video is a dumb ass who didn't do proper research. Connecting LEGO themes is a hobby of mine, so far I have found and established cannon connections between 70ish themes that set them all in the same universe. Galaxy Squad is connected to Alien Conquest but not directly, its through a long string of connections. He also incorrectly identified Monster Fighters as directly connected to Alien Conquest. To connect Galaxy Squad to Alien Conquest you need to first account for Galaxy Squad's connection to Monster Fighters, this is established in a LEGO club magazine comic where we see that the defeat of Lord Vampyre is what attracted the Buggoids from Galaxy Squad to earth. In the official description of the series 16 collectable minifigure "Spy" it is stated that he has worked with the Galaxy Squad. It's also said that he has worked with the agents from the 2009 Agents theme. The Agents theme is connected to LEGO City through a racing game that features both the themes. City is connected to Classic Space through various Classic Space logos throughout the theme, it's even on many City space vehicles. The classic space logo also appears on the series 6 collectible minifigure "Intergalactic Girl", In her official description she is said to be the arch nemesis of the series 8 collectible minifigure "Alien Villainess". In the official description of the Alien Villainess she is revealed to be the leader of the alien forces in Alien conquest. Again, I take major issue with most of this video, as a huge LEGO fan I immediately noticed that lots of his information was blatantly incorrect and just poorly researched.

The original show pitch for Gwen was just an old friend of Ben's before being reworked into being a (distant) relative, and a lot of the original idea blend into some episodes. 11:06:50 There's something extra ironic in something as derivative of old pulp adventure serials/genre as Indiana Jones turning around and complaining another thing ripped THEM off.
@nottelling40662 жыл бұрын
Gwen was never intended to be a love interest though. Even when she was planned to just be a classmate, it's been said time and time again by the crew that despite being an unrelated girl and boy early on, they were never to be in love. Think it's just a combo of some things being purposely awkward (the dance practice in the wedding episode) and the general assumption of "boy and girl hate each other, that's love."

If you ever want to make a Second Lego Iceberg, here is a low Entry recommendation: The Omega was seen in the Ninjago Show. Basically, in the Lego Clutch Powers Movie, it’s revealed that Clutch Powers Dad went missing. Later on it’s revealed he was kidnapped by a creature named “The Omega” who the ‘Lego HQ Guy’ explains was the most dangerous villain they’ve ever faced. However, the Omega is never actually seen in the film, and because we don’t know what happens in the Sequel, it’s possible this Plot Point was forgotten about…or was it? In a Season of the Lego Ninjago Show, Clutch Powers returns as an older guy, and although he never interacts with them, there are these Demonic creatures known as the Oni, who are lead by a Oni named *”The Omega”* So…is Ninjago Omega the one that kidnapped Clutch Powers Dad? …probably not initially, as Ninjago didn’t exist back then but….retroactively you could say it’s the same dude.

Me and all the other elementary school kids were completely amazed by it and how he was driving it around with only a laser, I think he also had run a similar program where he had this big placemat with a 2d town on it and the robot used it's camera to see where the road on the placemat was and it would drive around the town on the roads all on it's own, it was really cool cause I had remembered seeing this NXT R2-D2 online and seeing an actual NXT robot in person was like almost sci-fi to me back in 2008.

this iceberg showed me just how different lego is, as a company. in a lot of situations in this video, they actually listened to the fans and adapted to the feedback they were recieving.

Johnny Thunder (the LEGO character) got me into Johnny Thunders (the musician) due to a typo. Imagine my surprise when instead of a minifig I see grainy black and white pictures of some crazy guy with crazier hair waving his guitar around!

Clutch Powers was name dropped a few times in Ninjago before his appearance, as early as the first season, if I remember correctly. (One of the serpentine blades was stated to have been discovered by him and given to the museum)

Seeing all the Lego sets I wanted as a kid, but never got because my family never had much money, and by the time I started getting my own money my dad acually forbid me from buying toys (and made me throw away my existing toys, seriously) makes me nostalgic in so many ways. Seeing them on shelves, wondering what they would look like all built up in real life, but never getting to experience them...

You’re channel is just simply amazing. I play these icebergs during my workday and they both inform me and make me laugh out loud. Thanks for all the great content.

On the topic of "Boba Fett's Starship," it's less LEGO censoring it and more Disney. Disney Bigwigs are now calling The Firespray (even though that's what the model of the ship was called before). But the set was made after Slave I was retired, yet before Firespray was revealed. So LEGO simply went the generic route per Disney's request.

If you want to talk about scummy Comic-Con figures, there was a 18-month long period where the only way to have an ability in Lego Dimensions was to own the Supergirl figure that they handed out at E3 2016.

I really appreciate this iceberg because there are so many themes I played with as a kid with names I forgot, like Power Miners and Atlantis.

The "Zack he's a Lego maniac" line has gotta be the inspiration for that one line in a madworld song that goes "jack he's a psycho maniac" or am i just ignorant

Hmm, who knows? But, it sounds the same, even the rhythm is similar. Interesting.

Johnny appearing in that Jurrasic Park 3 makes me want an easter egg of some character in a Jurrastic Park thing that resembles Johnny from the sets.

I want to correct something: the "sandspeeder" *in-lore* is just a "snowspeeder" with a different paint scheme. This is because the "snowspeeder" is just a general-purpose T-47 Airspeeder. It could be used over snow, sand, water, pavement, jungle, or simply the atmosphere of a gas giant. I think it's funny how many people believe that the T-47 was only a snow vehicle. It was literally just an aerial tug that the Rebels strapped some guns onto and sent to some Icebox in the outer rim.

I remember when I was a kid I took aliens from old Space Police sets and some of the minifig creatures from Atlantis, along with a couple rock golems from Power Miners for good measure, and convert them into jedi to make my own little Old Republic high council

I remember watching Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium way back in either kindergarden or 1st grade. Never remember the name if the movie until you just showed it. You've unlocked one of my core memories cause I remember that being the first time watching a movie in school.

This brings up a lot of memories for me, I’m digging through a lot after this. For one, I remember the Klasky-Csupo direct-to-video series that was out in the late 90s and early 2000s and that they made Lego toys, very basic pieces that were only distinguished by faces like Ronald McDonald or Hamburglar. I remember a helicopter type toy but little else. Another one was the Lego Creator Harry Potter games. I just had Chamber of Secrets and honestly, I really liked it a lot even with how weird it seems in retrospect. You could play as just about any character and cast unique spells, I just hated playing as Ron since he could only make himself vomit slugs. Characters spoke to each other in an almost Simlish kind of way in single nonsensical phrases. I never got very far in it but remember it making use of building mechanics to an extent, and I was really hooked on the free roaming.

A lot of people hate on the Lego Ninjago Movie but I enjoyed it so much that right after seeing it I sprained my ankle for a week and a half because I was running around my house trying to do jumping ninja kicks. That was when the depressing realization that my body's not nearly as young as the rest of me is sank in oof lol

Very nice vídeo! Even tough I don't really buy them anymore, Legos still really fascinate me. I was honestly shocked with how I recognized so many of the entries you mentioned from when I was younger, and super into Legos.
