The Less-Known Area of Navada Side @ Heavenly, Lake Tahoe

偶然在 Heavenly 的纜車上跟一個當地人閒聊，他向我透露了一個只有當地人和常客知道的「秘密」區域：一塊在 Nevada side ，地圖上看起來一點都不起眼的地方。他說那邊不但人少，還有多樣化的地形和優質的雪。我聽了覺得哪有那麼好康的事，半信半疑地從 California side 找雪道「想辦法」過去（除非你待在 Navada base，還真的是蠻難「不小心」滑到的）。結果大驚豔：真的有點像是被當地人故意隔起來的區域：佔地面積比地圖上看起來至少大兩、三倍，而且設有三條高速纜車。這裡有超長超平的 groomers 可以飆車，同時也有各式各樣的樹林和蘑菇可以滑。最神奇的是我們在這裡滑了一整天，沒有一次需要等纜車排隊，不像其他區域的纜車大排長龍！！
While on a chairlift at Heavenly, I struck up a casual conversation with a local who revealed a "secret" area on the Nevada side that looks pretty unremarkable on the trail map. He mentioned that the area is mostly only known to locals and regulars. He said not only is it less crowded there, but it also boasts diverse terrain and better snow condition most of the time. I was super skeptical but as I tried to find my way into this "secret" area from the California side, I quickly realized that it is quite difficult to end up in this area unless you park or stay at the Navada base. This area is amazing! It almost felt like an area deliberately hidden by locals: it is at least two to three times larger than what it seems on the map and has three express chairlifts; there are super long and smooth groomers perfect for speed runs, as well as a variety of glades and moguls. Most shockingly, we skied here all day without once having to wait in line for the chairlift, a stark contrast to the long lines in all other areas!!!
