The more I watch Randy,I gain more and more respect for him. I might poke a little fun at him for some of his view on some things. But I really do appreciate you sir and never mean to offend God bless you Randy.

This perspective is so true. One of my best fishing buddies had a 21-foot boat with a 200 EFI and we never ran more than 45 MPH. It's much easier on the boat and motor. With how much these boats cost nowadays, The craft will serve you for many more years with less critical breakdown.

My dad and I were huge fans of mr Rick too , he was close to winning so many more than he actually won , me and dad would be pulling for him on tv , my dad drove his boat slower too , even his truck pulling the boat to Venice for the weekend , 55 mph , i remember watching him drive there and I have ants in my pants to get down there , every weekend , my excitement would be through the roof

Randy... Ever since I started fishing from a kayak, my fishing has improved.. whether it's because I'm fishing slower with more finesse , or just do a more thorough job of covering water .. I have been catching more and bigger bass .. That's just my opinion.. The Frye Guy

I remember reading a comment Dave Gliebe made about how if wasn't catching fish he would just drive around until he saw something different that caught his eye such as a single tule or stick above the water surface . He said these small things he noticed usually resulted in his biggest fish . Like you say Randy hard to see these things running wide open since driving a boat at these speeds requires all of your attention .

Good story. On my home lake , Black Lake , NY guys fly up and down the lake. They come in a bay at 60mph , make a few casts , then roar out of the bay. Im a big Rick Clunn fan. BTW...Why does the tackle room look so empty? I thought I used to see momentos and baits on the shelves. Im anxious for the mental monday video.

When we were limited to 150HP I scared myself driving more than once, can’t imagine what my co-angler was feeling. Some of my buddies are running 250’s now and one in particular scares me to death every time. Another reason I try not to fish weekends, too many macho men

Your run back to the weigh-in reminded me of a short story I heard. I forget the event, but was a two-day AM level regional, to get to a big show. Wanna say All American, dunno. Boater had enough to win, motor overheats on the way back. Who comes along but a friend of the 2nd place guy, knows his buddy caught them good. Comes off plane to help, idles up. Sees the guy's bag of fish, then on the fly........comes up with a BS story how his motor just messed up, can't more than idle. Long story short..............the boater with the winning bag could hear them later, talking about making the winner late so his buddy could win.

I have always run the boat 50-60% of top rpm for cruise. Safer, more comfortable, better gas mileage, easier on equipment, more enjoyable.

Already drive like a grandpa. Cause I am. When the boat was new I got up to 63mph and had throttle to go but decided it was too fast for me. To this day I have no idea what the top end is. Never will! Ain't young nor dumb!

So... The secret success to catching fish is: peanut butter and garlic, drive slow and turn off forward facing sonar... So when it's post frontal, blue bird skies and super slick just drive slow and you'll catch more fish guys!

I was fortunate to fish with Mr Clunn at a central div open on table rock in early 90 something ! March , cold as Siberia and we hit one of those slick roague waves that he didnt see and stood the boat straight up right at indian point !! I'm glad that he wasnt full out !! One of the greatest days on the water and the very best experience with BASS !!

I'm not into bassing, but Ricky Clunn is a specialist in crankbaiting as Gary Dobyn was in jerkbaiting. However, it eludes people as to why the young guns are far superior than these old schoolers. Their time has come and go in this sport. Respect must be given them for paving the way. Now we must talk about the new age. These guys are menacing nonetheless. I want to smoke these kids for the world to see. It will be done with relative ease. You don't have to believe me. I am the best in this game. I want the best.

@Iriesushi Жыл бұрын
@@randyblaukatintuitive Ok Rick, Math doesn't lie. If I get from point A to point B and cover 60 miles traveled@ 80mph=45minutes vs 60 miles@40 mph=1hour 30minutes. 45 minutes of fishing time vs drive time is a HUGE advantage in an eight hour tourney. Unlike science and medicine, math is one constant that cannot be skewed with valid data input. Don't get me wrong, there are some guys that have no business pushing the envelope in a fast bass boat.. Then, there are the well seasoned, who have a go fast, boating background where 90mph really doesn't seem that fast when you are used to 100mph.

With all due respect Mr. Iresuhi, How many Bassmaster Classics have you won? How many times have you been Angler of the Year? Well....let's see.....Mr. Clunn has been fishing BASS tournaments since 1974. He's qualified for 32 Bassmaster Classics, 28 of them consecutively. Won four of them. Also won the Red Man All American. Also won the US Open not once, but twice. Won the BASS AOY in 88. As well as MegaBucks in 2001. Not to mention all the other tournaments he's won in BASS, US BASS, FLW, and RedMan. And...he's STILL competing, and WINNING, when almost all the others from his Era have long since disappeared. If Rick Clunn says it, that's good enough for me.
