@@RandyNeilMD Yes Dr.Neil, recently I’ve been having the HARDEST time with dosage calculations from pharm and mechanisms of resistance as well as genetics (transduction, transformation etc)... I’m finding it hard to understand (for starters), let alone REMEMBER 😓... I’d really appreciate it if you could do a segment on that. Thanks again Dr. Neil. 💛

Perfect timing! I just visited a few of my old preceptors to ask for a LOR. They all wanted a draft. Now, I just have to make the letter drafts a little different so it isn't obvious.

Thank you so much Dr. Neil for this video! I was wondering if you could make a video about what to do with an MD degree while waiting for the next match cycle (IMG edition). Or for those that didn’t get a match and were unable to get a SOAP. I am still studying for my board exams, but graduate this semester.. and have been seeking for opportunities to build my CV. I appreciate you!

I'm sorry to ask such a naive question, but still asking, do LORs from native country count? Are US clinical rotations a must-have for residency?
@RandyNeilMD3 жыл бұрын
I don't think there is anything saying LORs have to be from a certain place... Of course, an LOR from a Physician in the same hospital carries more weight than one from a Physician unknown to the program reading it. You may different opinions on whether the US clinical rotation is a must or not. Would it help...yes. Is it a requirement...not that I am aware. I do believe there certain states that require a certain portion of your core rotations to be done in 'green book' locations. That is an exception, not the rule. This is just my understanding of the up-to-date trend.

Can you please advise me on this question please??? Can I submit LORs from current employments after internship , not during internship? IMG sometimes they work somewhere else during USMLE steps studies. So, Can I use LORS from employment instead of internship? Thanks.

Let me see what I can do.... I'll have to go back and look to see if I even did that... Off hand... My cover letter for a position (outside of Medicine) was always a brief 'letter of interest'....but let me check.

i am 37 year old and applying for residency next year. what do you think about the effect of age and clinical experience (not in the US) in applying to residency. Thank you
@RandyNeilMD3 жыл бұрын
They can't discriminate age. They would have to ask or figure it out based on if you have year of graduation on resume,
