That ups sounds was instantly recognizable. Finally got rid of my old one after 20+ years. The last 6 months I was hearing that sound at least three times a day

12:00 - Let's not forget the whole Surface RT debacle either back in 2012. They made an ARM device targeted at businesses meant to run inside the Campus LAN that you *couldn't join to A.D. domain in 2012*... cool. Good to see they've learned their lesson this time around 🙄

Correction, The margin on PCs at Best Buy when I worked there was very low, and we made money off service packages and accessories. Unless things have changed the industry in a dramatic way, this is more likely a sign that Best Buy hasn't been attaching services to computers like they need to to sustain Geek Squad.

Speaking of default browsers, something I noticed for the first time the other day (and it's probably been like this for a while). When did Microsoft start making you set your default browser independently in Outlook? Even if the system is set to use Firefox or Chrome, Outlook will open links in Edge unless you go into the Outlook settings and tell it otherwise.

Thanks for the video. It is year of Linux for me. Mint is doing all the gaming I need. Did have a dual Windows 10 and Linux, Windows stopped working after reinstalling it twice, Windows I am taking the hint, format windows drive to EXT4. Done.

I have an older PC (7th Gen Core i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB NVMe) that was running Windows 10 - tried to upgrade to Windows 11, Microsoft does not support 7th Gen i7 and will not allow the upgrade. I upgraded the Mint Linux partition from 18.1 to 21.3 - moved my files over from Windows, and killed the Windows partition and gave the extra space to Linux.

I hate the model for modern DRM-enabled games where you put them on a digital storefront and even though you are paying to play the game, you don't own anything. If the store decides they want to remove the game or shut down or anything, you lose access. You paid for access to the game, but the legal agreement is that the store retains full rights to the game and can revoke access at any time... The only reason we haven't been totally screwed is because Steam/Gave Newell is a benevolent dictator.

120tb? It’ll take you a month to resilver a drive. I quit buying the 18TB drives and went back to 8tb as it’s really a sweet spot for write time and cost

Huh.....ads on Windows....that's nice. I moved all my systems over to Fedora 39 in Feb and haven't looked back. I've been using Windows since Win 1.02. And they finally pushed me away with the crap being pulled in Windows.

18:19 - I have a small PC with a 7th Gen i7 (16GB RAM and 1TB NVMe), and Microsoft will not allow it to have Windows 11 because they won't support the CPU. The small PC has now become exclusively a Linux Desktop.

i reported a issus on iphone over a year ago and its still not fixed.. in some apps if you turn your phone to landskabe it turns off the phone just restart it out of the blue

Wow I looked up the Fairbuds and the only audio codecs they support are SBC and AAC. wtf, and they tout "premium sound" on their website. They're going to sound like absolute ass just because they can't do a decent quality codec like LDAC or aptX-HD.

The next zero-day is gonna be fun… Which is actually kinda why I wish people had a way to take the leaked XP source code and run with it. If they could, I think you'd see a community of devs pop up to fix security flaws and modernize the codebase. I mean, most people's stuff would run on it even now, and what wouldn't run yet would be easily fixed. I wonder how ReactOS is doing these days…

Except they just changed that. § 10 Abs. 1 Nr. 4 StAG has been abolished and from June 26th 2024 on you can have double citizenship.

@@kuhluhOG There has been a lot of criticism of it, indeed, especially by the opposition. As they also made it a lot easier to obtain German citizenship at the same time. There also was a scandal several years ago when a high ranking media person freely admitted to vote twice in the European Elections being Italian-German. Remains to be seen how it all turns out.

shared vram and system ram being "innovative"??? That's how almost all onboard graphics work. And that was mainstream tech (on desktops) as recently as the early 2000's and is how almost all laptops STILL handle graphics. You've been around long enough to know Apple never does anything truly innovative. They use current niche ideas/trends but do them in a way that's appealing to mainstream markets.
