People watch these fan made videos expecting Axanar level graphics and production, only to mock when they don't materialise. I love the shifting background, air typing and captain opening the comms from thin air. This is far better than anything I could do. Don't listen to the detractors and keep at it. Excellent work guys. The acting does suck though :)

Did anyone notice that the Romulan ship actually de-cloaked off their port bow (not starboard)? I do like the "Theremin (waving hands high over the consoles) Hand Gesture Control interface". Nice to see them using different types of technology. I couldn't really take sleepy Captain Homer Simpson seriously. I'm only teasing a little. A commendable start though. The ships were great - nice to see some sensible tweaks to the Excelsior Class. The effects were good, too, and the story was enjoyable. Just need to address some issues, as you go forward. Good luck.

Had a good chuckle over this.Like that you used the Chandley and the Romulan battleship from the Star Trek Ship Construction Manual.I have those books still after 35 plus yrs.I made my own model versions of those ships back in the late 1980's using the 1701A kit and made the Romulan ship from scratch roughly in the same scale to the 1701A.It still survives away in a cupboard in my garage.

4:34 Yay, great to see my favorite ship hull type from the ST:STCS game by FASA ... The Chandley class Fighting Frigate. I fought DOZENS of battles with that ship, using hex paper, ship counters, ship sheets, dice and pencils, back in the 1990's ... I had a dedicated ping pong table fitted with architect lamps devoted to the game for YEARS. My ship at the time was the USS Spartacus. The Chandley, the Romulan V-30, and the Klingon L-42 were the 3 best ships in the game (besides the Enterprise class Heavy Cruiser) IMNSHO. Tactically, the thing that made the Chandley the best pound for pound ship of its time was it's high 3:1 maneuverability ratio, it's efficient shield ratios, and its potent forward and aft twin torpedo launchers. It was basically the defiant before the defiant (DS9) even existed. Good times.

Loved that game, played many many hours of fasa sfb and federation and empire. Many cool ship designs in those games. D10 from fasa is a favorite of mine. We also had the FASA star trek rpg, but we used the fallout rpg system for characters. It was one of the best rpg systems ever (fallout). We used FASA for space combat and the source books. Edit: You didn't mention the chandlys 5 22 man transporters and on board marine battalion, and shuttle bay to support landings. Just another cool feature of that ship.

Star Trek, AD&D, Call of Cthulhu, Star Wars, Cyberpunk, GURPS, DC Superheroes, Marvel Superheroes (adapted to DC system), and a homespun system of our own called "ever onward" set in an alternate reality version of Medieval Europe where folklore and magic were real (think: kinda like hellboy)

@@RovingPunster we wound up adapting the fallout system for our swords and sorcery game. Although it changed enough to be a new home brew system. The system encouraged non combat solutions as it was pretty realistic and getting killed or maimed was always a die roll away. The 90s, good stuff.

Oh, and as for the Chandley's assault transporters, we never used em for 2 reasons. First, the ST:STCS had no rules for them (that's the Starfleet Battles system, which we didnt use). Second, all our Federation crews in Star Trek RPG were set on Enterprise class heavy cruisers, not the Chandley ... we were planning to start a new campaign using a Chandley, but sadly a key member of our group died of cancer, and our RPG group slowly disintegrated after. Lasted 10 yrs or so, which was a lot longer than most.

To answer your question, I used Lightwave 2015.3 to render the interior sets and then did the remainder in Hitfilm Pro 2017 (for the greenscreen), Adobe After Effects (for the effects) and Adobe Premiere (editing). One of these days, I may try the interiors in Unreal Editor!

CGI is good all things considered. Acting needs improvement, but I've Certainly seen worse. Only other thing is I feel the Music was too loud over the Dialog. But overall this is really good. Also, I'll take a green screen CGI set over an office chair, living room set with Paper Printout Control panels any day.

The pilot needs to learn to actually "Touch" the panel interface, the Captain needs a uniform, (I don't think a hoodie is excepted as Starfleet Regulation) The rest of the crew needs to tiddy up their hair and perhaps lose a pound or two. They are WAY out side of Starfleet Regs. That blue/green screen REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to be improved on! Everyone needs to be dressed in the same style uniform. Other then the bad acting and dialog and editing, This was a good try at a Star Trek fan film. Keep at it folks. One day you will be great at it.

The Lexington is a beautiful take on the Excelsior design. But apparently the ship has no exercise facilities... not judging the actors (at all), but it's hard to immerse in the story when everyone has a non-military body shape. And is that supposed to be Saavik?? Still, better than anything CBS can come up with.

Agreed, and I wouldn't have used a letter registry for the Lexington. Since the Nebula class of the same name does not carry a letter registry, I think that it is safe to say that neither would her predecessor. I do love the notion of the Lexington being an Ingram class however. Whether or not they want to just continue working on special effects and CGI (which I think is their strength here, but the special effects have room for improvement), or continue doing things as they are now-with or without it's flaws, is up to them. Not everyone is cut out for acting, but I do not feel it is my place to tell people when to stop. I know that not everyone is talented, and sets and props are expensive. I honestly just skipped through the dialogue, and watched the CGI scenes, and was still able to get an idea of the story.
