The original waste tanks on the Sunrader were a black plastic that were strapped in. The straps were galvanized metal with rubber between the straps and plastic tank. the rubber keep the strap from chafing into the plastic tank. I hope you don't have any problems with metal to metal chafing. Great build, thanks for sharing.

Could you put some insulation on the bottem of the tank, like Dynomat and that would provide a barrier from the heat from the muffler?

It did take awhile 😅 but they were cheap! Paid 75 for 3 of them and 100 in gas. But if you got access to stainless I’m calling you next time we need a tank!!

The problem we had was time. This tank was holding us up from mating the camper to the Lexus. We searched for days trying to find an affordable heavy duty stainless steel tank and came up empty handed! The closes we could find was these 3 hydraulic oil tanks we found in Virginia. The best part was the price. Under 100 bucks for all 3 and there were the closest we could find to our dimensions.
