As a younger voter the Lib Dems are doing a great job, the conservatives have lost most of the younger ones with the threat of National Service and constantly working against the want of us, the future of the country that we will have to live in. Where as the Lib Dems seem to be taking everything on board and saying hey we will give it our best shot! and Ed Davey feels like someone everyone can feel connected with, his funny side, his professional side, and his caring side, instead of being disconnected as we our with many other party leaders.

The LibDems have the best manifesto, going a lot further than New Labour Starmer, with the most innovative means of generating revenue painlessly, excellent environmental policies and an industrial strategy similar to Labour's, plus the most human leader. A senior LIbDem campaigning in 5 target seats over a number of days said they could only identify 3 people who admitted they would vote Tory. Shy Tories or rare? New Statesman analysis seat by seat takes into account local factors such as Council seats and a degree of tactical voting. Their LibDem projection was in low 60's but quite possibly in the 70's. Momentum were uncertain as to whether to support Labour or go out into the cold for Corbyn. I will be voting Labour tactically in Banbury.

Ed Davey is essentially taking a leaf out of Boris Johnson's 2019 (and brexit) playbook, by being a bit of a buffoon, being disarming and friendly and trying not to take the election to seriously. I'm surprised that no other news outlets or commentators seemed to have picked up on this, and I'm equally surprised that that tactics seem to be working (again)

Proportional representation being on the front page of the manifesto alone is enough for Lib Dem to get my vote. This is one of THE crucial issues for me that needs addressing, because the way things currently stand we can barely call our system a democracy. My area is super safe Labour seat anyway so no risk of my accidentally handing a vote to the tories.
@thedentist82325 ай бұрын
As a young voter myself I do think that the lib dems have a lot of good ideas, however I find the lack of talk on immigration most alarming. In my opinion it is one of the most pressing matters of modern times and affects pretty much all aspects of life from NHS wait times, to house prices and even in some cases violent crime. Not only does ignoring immigration levels mean all these issues are only going to get worse but more and more people are going to keep dying in trying to cross the channel. There is nothing wrong with letting people into the country legally as we have done in the past but that can only happen once we have gotten our net migration numbers down to a reasonable level and given the country time to catch up, otherwise I fear that nothing will ever get improve.

Solid maniphesto honestly. It's got everything I want. How they plan to reach their figures could be a bit shaky though because even if you go after the tax evaders, there's always going to be another way they can dodge. However, joining the single market of the EU will only be a good thing for the economy. The Manifesto will put off anyone wanting a net decrease in immigration, but those people are probably not going to vote Lib Dem anyway. It's a shame I'm in a Labour predicted seat, but happy to tactically vote as long as others kick out the Tories in a Lib Dem contested seat.

Actually, no. You probably wouldn't have a degree at all. Tuition fees were introduced by New Labour. Ed Millibands policy was to double the fees, the Conservatives to triple them. The only contribution from the Lib-dems was to set up (in super-quick time) a national system of guaranteed loans for each student. Without this, you would have had to pay each year's tuition fees yourself in advance. Like many others, I would not have been able to afford this.
